The x1800xt is faster, it beats the 7900GT in almost all game tests. But you might want to consider the x1900GT also.

Well right now the x1800xt is the fastest of the 3, but once more shader intensive games start being released then the x1900GT will take over, so if you are making this a future upgrade then get the x1900GT.

ok thanks for the help so far :)

  9. If you've got the money, go for the X1900GT. It has 36 shader processors, and will really fly in games like Oblivion.

Oh. Too bad. Well if so I a rec. a 500 watt. They pretty cheap, some go around for 40-50 buck and higher. I don't know which kind of brand to rec. for you, but mabey the other gurus can.

as darkplayer said, the radeon is faster at stock, but we all have seen people going over 700 mhz on 7900GTs

id say this is purely a matter of preference, both cards perform in about the same ballpark, and cost about the same, so i would say its down to your personal preference for either Ati or Nvidia, which in my case would mean Nvidia, as i dislike Atis drivers

ive seen most of the benchmarks and all 3 cards are around the same ballpark, so basically im going to see which card i can get for the cheapest price.

  17. In todays games, they are about the same. But future games the X1900GT should prove to be the better choice because it has more shader processors than the other 2 do.
