Ymmm good question. I am sure nvidia has something just itching to beat ati's counter to the gtx and the 512 (what ever it is called) 7800. So I assume atleast another release of different videocard from nvidia with in a couple of months depending on how well ati does. Could get interesting soon. Good for us consumers cause the price of videocards are still dropping.

id love it if the 6800GT's would drop a lot now, not that i need more power really, but it would be the final AGP card for me

and wow, just think of it all, 24 pipes at 550 mhz, im getting a bit of an inferiority complex here with my 12 pipes....

Yeah, if we aren't going to get any 7xxx series chips for AGP the lets atleast get the 6800GT to below $200. Like the above user said, this would be my last AGP card.

i for see a suicide wave in canada the 7th :p

anyway, if NV pulls this off this soon, ati really got smacked down, sure they launched their card, but if their competitor succeeds in bringing out a previously unanounced product between their launch and actual date on the market.....

C'mon man... It is possible to run 2 Gainward 6800 GT's (or just normal Ultra) in SLI whitout any fitting problems.

Didn't ATi have major problems with geting the R520 core over 700mhz with 16 pipes , so how can they get a R580 with say 24 pipts and 700Mhz core???

Or am i on the wrong sorta lines for the R580.

The Inq confirmed the information. It really must be true. WOW

NVIDIA'S UPCOMING Geforce 7800 GTX 512 MB version is going to be one heck of a card.

This card really looks great and we managed to confirm the data that we wrote about it yesterday. You can find that here.

We still don’t know the price of this card but it really puts ATI's Radeon X1800XT in a very hard position. This card is competing well versus old Geforce 7800GTX with 256MB of memory clocked at 430MHz core and 1200MHz but I don’t think that R520, Radeon X1800XT has much chance against 550MHz core and 1800MHz memory. Nvidia got it right this time and just nailed ATI.

why by printing the exact same article again of course.
Everyone knows that if you repeat the same thing twice, then it must be true.

Just try it...say i'm a millionaire twice in a row and watch your pockets explode with money.
Of course...you have to be inside the inquirer offices while doing this for it to work.

I never thought that Nvidia would clock their card so much with much faster 512mb ram it will easily beat X1800XT in all settings.

If this is not called ultra then their 90nm G70 which will release early next year will definitely be called ultra lol. Pricing will be intresting and if Ati releases X1800XT PE then 7800GTX with 256 and 512mb be available at great prices lol.
