Heya, i dont really have money to waste (although i guess i did) but i bought myself 2x7800gt. My other specs are amd3500+ and one gig of ram. My mobo is msi k8n-platinum. Now when i ran aquamark i almost got a heartattack = 61000 points (i got more with my x800pro). Plz any advice would be more than welcome to help this very frustrated girl in need atm. ps= i can run bf2 maxed but not without some hick ups etc ps2 = farcry doesnt really run smooth also maxed ps3 = World of warcraft defenately doesnt run very smooth or not the way i would expect it (up to 15fps in heavy heavy fights). I know my cpu is bottleneck but i would like to think 2x7800gts can get a higher score than my x800pro. Plz help ps4= I heard maybe that sp2 has something to do with it? I dont have sp2 installed sofar (clean format) should that help? Going to work now thx for all help .
I have similar stuff, aside from the SLI. First, check the obvious items: 1) SLI selector is in dual card mode 2) AMD Cool'n Quiet is not enabled 3) Your RAM is actually at 1T, not 2T. Go into the cell menu in the BIOS, and the RAM settings. 2/3 ofthe way down set it to manual then 1T. defaults to 2T. 4) What timings does your memory support? 2-2-2-5? Set those manually in the BIOS as well. Auto is usually wrong. 5) Make sure you do not have vertical sync set to on in the driver. And, BF2 hiccups with anything less than 2 GB. I am upgrading to my RAM to fix that issue. Currently at 1 GB. You should get around 9500 with 7800 GT's in SLI mode with no tweaking.
thx for the help appreciate it but can u explain the t1 and t2 ram abit (i m a new girl in town so :s)
never mind i put it to 1t, cant seem to find if cool and quit is enabled or not personnaly i dont think so but. Anyway i still get these bad results so plz if anyone can help me.
Also, I would try Driver Cleaner Pro to make sure no ATI driver items are left to conflict. Cool'n Quiet is on the Cell Menu Page, middle, first screen when you enter.
i checked cool'n quit was disabled, i put it on T1 there are no ati drivers left because it was a fresh install and my score is even lower now on aquamark only 56000 now. I m going to crawl into a corner with my teddy and cry now...
try another benchmark... 3dmark05 is a good one, and post back. AM3 is SERIOUSLY CPU orientated. You should be getting more than that I admit, but i only get about 80k stock, but by pushing my CPU, and with no vid card overclock I can pass 100k, which shows u just how limited that benchy is. Run 05, and post back with the score.
Thermalake 480V so i should think that is enough right? or at least that can influence my performance?
U should think even if sli is not working i should have better aquamark or 3dmark2005 with even 1 7800gt. My cpu is a big bottleneck i agree but still it shouldnt be i have so "lousy" performance with those cards :'( Btw i m using latest drivers 78.11 (or something like that). Could not having service pack2 installed have anything to do with it?
you have got problems i get 7000+with one 7800gt on 3d05 when you did a clean install did you use ZDISK or equivalent software to clean the drives after formatting them
and sp2 shouldnt be a problem also you might wanna try going back to 77.77 drivers my gt kept freezing with the 81. drivers so i went back to 77 and it sorted the problem out also list your motherboard make ram etc so we can get a better idea of your setup
if they are stressed the grakas they only get around 55 degrees max so i dont think thats a problem. And what do u mean with mobo is msi k8n- platinum and my ram is pc3200 from apacer. :s
it seems like you have'nt enabled SLI through the driver controle pannel... i could easily be worong but you never know..... becasue the scores your mentioning seems like the scores of a single 7800GTX on that kinda processor.... the fresh windows install you mentioned earlier....now was that a format and then a windows install or was it simply a windows over write installiation which happened to exclude the fact of formating.... i doubt your default bios settings could bring your scores so low.... an AMD3500 with a single 7800GTX should atleast being doing above 70K in aquamark.... you better start looking into your software entanglements tOo...and you could then start thinking about your hardware not being right... if you'd ask me...i'd say start by getting your drivers right... and then start by setting the bios right.. download CPUz check your Processor speed...just incase if you have'nt underclocked it or something...you could also check your Processor speed through the bios... set your ram timings in accordance to its spec....well thats the least you should do... dont mess your bios settings if you dont know what your doing... yeah 1t is a good thing....2t boggs the memory effency and bandwidth down....along with its speed...well thats the generalised idea of what it does.... your 3dmark05 seems to be doing ok for a single 7800GTX but not 2 make sure your using the latest drivers for you GFX card and nf4 chipset.... download the chipset driver through nvidia's official website.. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_amd_6.66.html make sure your using Direct X 9 c ( i doubt this being the cause or most of which i've mentioned becides the fact of them two cards not being connected properly ) you've either not connected the SLI bridge correctly (try turning it the other way) and my second guesss would be that you have'nt enabled SLI through the driver controle pannel... and by the way if incase you have'nt got that option in the driver controle pannel...that means you have'nt connected your cards properly through the SLI bridge... if your done with those and are 100% sure of being spot on with that...then its probably the drivers...so download the latest try the 81.84's for your card.... not that then start crying.... then again you probably are'nt even running in SLI judging by your scores... but i cant be 100% sure....since it could also be a virus or something....but i doubt that... best of luck...
