fookdat: Are you going to invest in the 7900GT AGP? and do you know if it will be sold in North America.

Im not sure if its going to be sold here or not have not found much on it.
The card is made over seas and will be over there till its worth sending it over here.

Im not going to buy it so far my clock speeds are better than that cards can go on over clocking and my benchmarks beat it too.

so dont see the points they less than mine.

    Oh no, I don't think so ;-)

    Here's my new Gainward AGP 7800GS 512MB at 500/1400:

    8397 3d05 marks

I can run a bit faster too, but I have only just got the card and am still messing about with it. I reckon 9,000 3d05's might be possible with some tweaking.

I would say your CPU is doing that for you mostly.

IM getting 7,700 with my setup on 3dmark05

do 3dmark06 and post your sm2.0 hdr3.0 cpu scores and we will see what its gettings.

I'm really disappointed with my card. It wont clock safely any higher than 490/1400 as it locks up in 3DMark05. I've given it all the power and cooling it needs, used coolbits, Ati tool and PowerStrip but it wont go any further :(

Ya the Gainward 7800 512MB is not doing that great as you would think compared to the regular 7800GS with 16 pipes.

overclock is actually less with the
    Gainward 7800 512MB

My default clocks are beating the stock gainward ones.

    my stock is 440/1300

Yes you are right but the Gainward 7800GS is also very processor limeted like the Original 7800GT Chip.
It also makes a big difference in wich Driver you use for that Card..my choice was the 84.43 because that is the best driver for me in Oblivion.
even that my score is not that high and i nearly clocked the Card to the Max
It´s not that bad for an ATHLON XP Processor.

Gainward is about to release the 7800GS+ with all 24Piplies enabeld....
and here is the TRICK ( you can flash the normal GS to GS+ 24Pipelines !!)
Now try this with an XFX or GFG,PNY no CHANCE !!

So it´s defenetly gonna be the best Card for AGP

Go and see it for yourself´s

The idea sounds great but doesnt say it has 24 pipes or even the total gpu speed of the card?

I will be more excited to actually see the cards performance cause the 20 pipeline card does not seem to be that exciting as it cant oc for anything.

Hopefully the 24 pipline card is better are they going to be selling them in the US?

I get almost 3400 on 3Dmark06 (1280x1024) using the 84.21 with my XFX 7800GS EE. I find the Gainward card doesn't make that much a difference accordign to the diff. in prices.

From what I understand the Gainward Bliss 7800GS's have troubles going much higher than 500Mhz due to the HSI chip needed to convert from pci-e to AGP. Bummer I guess, but still will be a pretty damn toasty card!

    Pushed my A-XP CPU a Little to 12.5*200 / 2500Mhz (Air Cooled) max 47°C
    Gainward 7800Gs at 480/1450 - Rriver 84.43

    3Dmark06 = 3885
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=264875

    I Think 3.9K is possible.....

    SM 2.0 Score = 1778
    HDR/SM 3.0 Score = 1816
    CPU Score = 879

Like I Said before The Gainward Bliss IS PROCESSOR LIMETED !!!!

A more Powerful CPU Like the FX-55(OC) and you will easely hit 4.5/5K

We know you are CPU limited, but so are we. But just looking at your SM2.0 and 3.0 scores, it is not that much of a diff seeing as both of us are CPU limited.

OK Guys......since we all use different Drivers to Bench it´s really hard to compare each System/Card so ive you want some REAL outcomes/Scores then we should all use the SAME 84.43 Driver in 3DMark06 (or am iam not right)???

I used always the 84.43 and that one is known not to be the Fastest Driver........in Benching........( optimized for Oblivion ) <<<< Right ?? >>>>

And Firiend´s I have to say you all have very GOOD Systems !!!

I am currently using the 84.21. They work very well for all games. I don't have Oblivion yet, but i will be getting it soon. Have you tried teh 84.37 as they seem to better than the 84.43 for Oblivion, or that is what I have heard so far.
