    So I just picked up my shiny new Leadtek 7800GS and overclocked it a bit. Just wondering what 3D Mark scores you other 7800GS owners are getting. My card is running at 475/1440.

    Mine are:

    2003: 12606
    2005: 6516
    2006: 3298

    All at default settings

    I just picked up the

    XFX 7800GS Extreme Edition

    Nvidia BETA 84.20

    STOCK 440/1300
    3DMark03 = 13,538
    3DMark05 = 5,865
    3DMark06 = 3,275

    Overclocked 510/1545
    3DMark03 = 15,278
    3DMark05 = 6,196
    3DMark06 = 3,651
    BF2 = stable no glitches at all
    BF2SF = stable no blitches at all
    this was max stable over clock with stock cooling using powestrip 3.63
    no issues running over 48 hours.

    I am cpu bound at the moment and I have just ordered the
    P4 3.4 1MB 800FSB Northwood
    that should boost perfomance morethan 30 percent.

    My scores are as follows:

    3DMark03 = 14642
    3DMark05 = 6678
    3DMark06 = 3458

    That is with my card at 502 / 1425

    I will try to overclock my cpu and do it again!

    Nice scores.

    Im not overclocking my cpu at all. I will try now and see what scores I come up with.

    I just ordered the 3.4 1MB Northwood.
    I am running 3.0 512K Northwood.

    should be some nice scores.

    I will be in touch.

    3DMark06 scores
    sm2=1702
    HDR=1681
    CPU=823

    I am now overclocking my cpu....the scores are after several tests through:
    I am reposting my previous data as it will be easier to read the new results.

    P4 3.0 @ 3.00Ghz 200FSB
    XFX 7800GS Extreme Edition
    Nvidia BETA 84.20

    STOCK 440/1300
    3DMark03 = 13,538
    3DMark05 = 5,865
    3DMark06 = 3,275

    OC 510/1545
    3DMark03 = 15,278
    3DMark05 = 6,196
    3DMark06 = 3,651; SM2.0= 1702; HDR= 1681; CPU= 823

    P4 3.0 @ 3.37GHz 224FSB
    GPU OC 510/1545
    3DMark03 = 15,587
    3DMark05 = 6,757
    3Dmark06 = 3,774; SM2.0= 1712; HDR= 1697; CPU= 917

    Overclocking the CPU did not help as much as Overclocking the GPU.
    When I get my new CPU I will post my new scores.
    New CPU scores should beat ocing scores of this CPU by default clocks.
    With new CPU I should beat the CPU 3Dmark06 test 1,000 point mark easy.

    I would have gone dual core but my mobo doesnt support need to build another computer so I can take advantage of those new techs.

    REALLY nice scores I envy you.

    When Benching 3dmark06, put the 2.0 and 3.0/HDR scores seperately. The test is too cpu-limited. I get 1450+ on 2.0 and 1550+ on 3.0/HDR, that's pretty good, but my cpu score is only 880, so my end score is 3350 (give or take a few points) I've seen cards with 1200 on 2.0 and 3.0HDR that have a considerably higher total score because of the cpu.

    So? it's cheaper than a x850xt here 270 vs 350 euro's (still expensive though for the performance you get and strange that the x8xx series aren't cheaper yet)

    I paid €250 for my 7800GS. And it is the top choice for AGP (I don't care about PCI-e).

    So, how much did you pay for the X800XT PE?

    if we do a 3dmark06 test the 7800GS will win because the ati is old and 7800Gs supports lot's of more and better support for sm3.0/HDR and stuff...
    and the x850XT PE is more expensive so the 7800GS will always be better
