ok here are the scores for my Xfx7600GTxxx i cant be arsed posting pics but if its really nessesary then i will 3dMark 03= 14897 3dMark 05= 6563 3dMark 06= 3235 SM2.0 1415 Hdr/SM3.0 1295 Cpu score 1031
i thought id do a new thread cos there doesnt seem to be any 7600GT scores and a few people were asking so........ Can an admin move this to benchmark mayhem please?
Nice scores. Not too big a difference from the 7800gt... when benches are on standard settings. Its thought that with the 128 mem bus, AA/AF performance will take a hit. Can you do benches with AAx4, AFx8, etc.
I don't feel so bad now. I was thinking that the 7600GT would get way to close to the 7800GT performance for such a low price. For that price though, those are some WICKED scores. Best bang for the buck IMO. I didn't do much tweaking but this is what I get so you can see the difference between 7600GT and 7800GT.
OK default scores and 4xaa and 8xaf enabled from nv control panel. 3dMark 03= 14897 3dMark 05= 6563 3dMark 06= 3235 SM2.0 1415 Hdr/SM3.0 1295 Cpu score 1031 3dmark 03 4x aa 8xaf = 8682 3dMark 05 4x aa 8xaf = 6134 3dmark 06 4x aa 8xaf = 2851 SM2.0 = 1158 HDR/Sm3.0 = 1166 CPU = 1031 not bad for a £150 card.......and cos i upgraded from a 9700pro then it completly blows me away and im a happy little bunny. Oh and i should think the scores will get a little better once the drivers start rolling out, but look at that diffrence in the Default 05 scores and with AA and AF enabled for a 128bit card thats really good. These were the scores i got on monday with my 9700pro 3dMark 03= 5746 3dMark 05= 2464 3dMark 06= 577
the 7600GT will never be the same as a 7800GT, but with some serious clocking it could hit the default 7800GT 3dmark score
damn, 6500 3dmark05 for a 200usd card, I only get 7000 with 7800GS @ 500/1400, sure my CPU may bottleneck a little but still it's a tiny performance advantage compared to the price difference (100usd). I really need to trade up for a 7900GT and dump the AGP mobo now.
Well at the moment ive not overclocked it from its 590-1600, ive got Coolbits installed but it seems buggy to me, anyway ive installed rivatuner and guess what no overclocking tab............Grrrrrrr, will i have to wait for rivatuner 15.9?
There is a way to add support for your card in Rivatuner, I had to do the same thing for my 7800GS and now all the overclocking options etc work. I dont remember the exact procedure, and it will likely be slightly different since its a different model, but if you ask in the Rivatuner forum someone there should be able to point you in the right direction.
7800GS is just an overpriced card for people still using AGP. From the moment it came out it was overpriced ($300) compared to a superior 7800GT ($285). AGP users beware, like myself
Cannot OC at all. 6800 and nForce3 board known as bad combo for VGA OC, beside Im using cheapo mix RAM and poor mobo for OC (Gigabyte K8NS Pro) LoL. DFI nForce4 and 7900GT might be my future system.
He suggested to OC your CPU, but you said "bad combo for VGA OC". Can't you make that A64 budge even a little bit?
I would like to know what's the secret on this card .. 12 pipes/128bit being faster than a 16pipes/256bit, like a 6800GT!
Lol I'm thinking of exactly the same thing, I will just trade up for a 7900GT, get a DFI Nforce 4 ultra mobo and then enjoy gaming @ 1600x1200 . My mobo is Gigabyte K8NS ultra and it's a piece of ****, any overclocking results in unstability (even just a few fsb increase).
The secret to the 7600GT is newer architecture for more efficient rendering and raw power from the clock speeds on both core and mem.
