They have similar performance but you get better PS 3.0/HDR support and more HD video features with a 7600GT, i would wait and to get a 7600GT.

I'm pretty shocked that the 6800 Ultra is going for such a low price, especially at CompUSA (They have the absolute worst prices I've ever seen for PC equipment). You'd be hard pressed to find an AGP Ultra for that price elsewhere. If it's for real, that's a great deal. Keep in mind that the 6800 Ultra is a bit of a power hog compared to the 7600 GT (which doesn't require direct connection to the PSU). I haven't heard anything about the 7600 GT coming out for AGP either. I think there's a 7600 GS out, but not GT. I would proceed with caution. If the price is right, go for the 6800 Ultra.

You have to decide between better shader performance and quality from the 7600GT or better memory bandwidth with the 6800u.

On paper the 7600GT looks like the most powerful on core performance... but on memory bandwidth the 6800u smokes it. EDIT: After looking at your specs... yeah get the 6800u. It's very unlikely to see the 7600GT come out with AGP support...

Want a review of the 7600GT that includes 6800u benchmark results?

I would stay away from pny. They have the worst warranty in the business. I have owned pny and had a card fail. They told me because they are not producing it anymore then the warranty is no good. I would defently go with a better company. But for the price it is hard to say no.

The 7600GT is faster I think, Also they both have HDR and SM 3.0 support, but the 7 Series of cards have better performance with it I think, and are faster at HDR. But the 6800U will be faster at higher resolutions or high AA or both. The 6800U is pretty much neck in neck with the 7600GT I beleive, But I don't think there making an AGP 7600GT like said above.

Man... I don't mean to be rude but... what are you smoking? The 6800u was first introduced in AGP version (the PCIe version came later), and is the flagship card of the 6 series which introduced all the SM3 and FP16 filtering and blending features. HDR is done with the FP16 buffers in the 6 series cards... who taught you, what did you read?

I say the 7600GT because the HDR support is improved and also when u enable the eye candy the 7 series does not take such a performanc loss as the 6 series.

Correct, I don't know where allesclar got his info, But all Geforce 6 series cards have Shader module 3.0 support and HDR and FP16 blending. Even the 6200 has it, so why would a 6800U ( Fastest of the 6 series ) not have it? I have shader module 3 support, HDR and FP16 blending ( HDR can be done on the shaders to, so that's why i'm saying it has FP16 support ).
