    Noob question...

What does it mean if it says the Lombok XT uses the VLIW-4D architecture?
Is this just a rebranded 6xxx card or am i misunderstanding something? :nerd:

Outside Cayman, all "arch" was VLIW5 ..

So if the card is in VLIW4, whatever this can't be a "rename".

But again thoses spec are surely fake or based on rumor... for the middle end and low end

Thames is not a desktop architecture, it's the mobile one if we follow AMD roadmap ..

For the 7970/7950 this is another story..

Any "leak" shown a month or more before a GPU is released is pure fake.

We probably won't get any solid info a couple weeks before it's released.

Remember how everyone thought the 6970 was ABSOLUTELY going to have 1920sp? Yeah, wasn't even close to that.

now it's 28nm...the real "6" as they should be series are the 78xx and lower range...

    7900 it's the fresh thing...

so for me as a pc pro and gamer also...even 1920-2048 shaders are few...i expected even more...but it's an improvement nevertheless...:)

Just hope the HD7950 is unlockable to HD7970... AMD may have out an end to that :(

Realistically though, it doesn't really hurt sales and it entices people who don't mind buying either AMD or Nvidia to buy it. Even if unlocked the HD7950 isn't as overclockable as the HD7970, its still a gain as there are probably more people willing to unlock than overclock :).

I have some questions on this cards.
Does this cards are now on testing , I mean they are not shiped for sale before extensivly testing hardware (heat) and drivers, right?

I had problems with my previous card ati 9800 pro(128Mb).
I think the producer was Hercules or something (Made in China) but that card had bad memory and high temperature. It crashed. Then I got a card from Saphirre and is quite good (heat is OK) and is running very long period.

What card producer shold I be looking for: Asus, XFX, MSI...
I would like to buy this 7550.
    Thanks

Man, you're way too early. We'll only be seeing these cards released in Q1 2012. There's no point thinking about a brand at this stage.

Actually, nothing is less sure of the use of XDR2.. maybe.. maybe not.

I have some real doubt, spec and clockspeed with be leaked like that.. remember Cayman, Cypress, and even the 6990.. we have get the spec on the last minute.
