    Pointless for the UK, as you would break your monthly cap in 1 second, the FUP, and also with you downloading that much in 1 second, they'll throttle and traffic shape your connection, so after that 1 second, you'll only be getting a speed of 1mb or less. :p

    I'm assuming this won't even be contemplated by ISPs within the next 10 years (Moor's Law...) I'd guess the main use for this would be in massive data-centres or huge file production / processing facilities.

    Don't really see the point in rolling out this kind of speed to IPS (ok, yes, for Intercontinental backbones) as nobody would ever be able to saturate it to make it worth the expense.

    Good point, but something you could do is download 2000 movies at once and have them all done by the end of the day since your only limit will be other people's upload speeds.
