AMD has announced what the card will include and is missing a lot of things related to the HDMI 2.1 standard

    1. There is no white paper what is in the video card

    2. It is not specified which types of HDR the card supports HDR10 + ? Dynamic HDR ?

    3. AMD registers support for H265 / HEVC Encode
    Or 4K H264 Encode but does not specify a 12BIT color level? 16 BIT? 4:4:4 ?
Same as for H265 / HEVC Decode

    4. Listed on the AMD HDMI page
HDMI ™ 2.1 VRR and FRL
    Where (ALLM)? (QFT)? (QMS)?

    5. there is a problem with the damaged HDMI 2.1 video card chips. How does AMD solve this?
Broken HDMI 2.1: Next Gen Gaming Confounds Denon Marantz & Yamaha

    6. AV1 Decode - uncompressed/compressed ? Encode ?
    Decode ? 4:2:2 ?

    5. Really? Not video cards. HDMI 2.1 receivers. Which is inside TV. Why u point this out as AMD problem to solve? It's Panasonic problem to solve...

the same HDMI 2.1 chip on NVIDIA graphics cards ( Panasonic chip )
    and is found in
    PS5
or XBOX ( Panasonic chip )

The HDMI 2.1 standard explicitly states:
" The specification supports both uncompressed and compressed modes "

The specification supports both uncompressed and compressed modes. Manufacturers can implement either or both modes. The designations are:

    • 4K100A - supports uncompressed mode
    • 4K100B - supports compressed mode
    • 4K100AB - supports both
    • 4K120A - supports uncompressed mode
    • 4K120B - supports compressed mode
    • 4K120AB - supports both
    • 8K50A - supports uncompressed mode
    • 8K50B - supports compressed mode
    • 8K50AB - supports both
    • 8K60A - supports uncompressed mode
    • 8K60B - supports compressed mode

Panasonic has brought half the standard only compressed mode !

Guy in the video states that standards uses "OR" for compressed / uncompressed. They may have changed wording afterwards when they realized how big error that was.

Yet, this is only early adopter problem for all devices. Because later when new devices support both modes, issue will go away as affected cards/consoles are at start of chain.

But it is good to know that such thing exists. From practical standpoint, I doubt consoles will push 4K@100Hz. They'll be happy to reach 4K@60Hz and at that point, framerate will be locked as consoles do.
It will be worse for PC where GPUs can push more through RAW horsepower or upscaling methods.

lol, where'd you get your WRONG info that graphics cards use the panasonic chip?

nvidia atleast uses a completely custom display engine - the AVR's are the location of these bad chips.
