jimmor my friend, look like changing the 2 timing u gave me do not make any improvement to my card, i still cant go higher than 415/920 w/o error in ati tools..

The two timing changes weren't actually meant to allow higher overclocks, only better performance !!!

And to that end I specifically wrote ---> "... But to see if you can improve performance slightly further, I suggest you try changing Timing1 to 05010306, and Timing2 to 00210406 ..." !

So my question now would be:- With speeds fixed at 415/920, what 3dmark03 and 05 scores do you get with old timings and then the new timings ???

jimmor, here is my benchmark score:

    when using this timing
    $0200100220 NV_PFB_TIMING0 : 060a1510
    $0200100224 NV_PFB_TIMING1 : 05010307
    $0200100228 NV_PFB_TIMING2 : 00240306
    i get
    3d mark 01 : 18200
    3d mark 03 : 12055
    3d mark 05 : 4843

    after changing to this timing
    $0200100220 NV_PFB_TIMING0 : 060a1510
    $0200100224 NV_PFB_TIMING1 : 05010306
    $0200100228 NV_PFB_TIMING2 : 00210406
    i get
    3d mark 01 : 18721
    3d mark 03 : 12178
    3d mark 05 : 4810

    3d mark 01 n 03 score incease a bit, but 05 lower than b4..

    Then change Timing2 to 00230306 !

jimmor, for wat purpose we change the string "801A06" near the end of the bios to "801A05"???

For the same reason as we change any of the other strings ----> better performance !

And that particular change is better for cards with faster 2.2ns memory. However, when not suitable for a particular card, it should be easily recognised since it will likely have a negative impact on stability.

So why not give it a try, since at the very least you can always undo the change if required ?

But if you decide to make the change, then remember you must change the bios's eight consecutive strings !

changing the string "801a06" to "801a05" do not increase but decrese my performance, so i think i will keep using "801a06"...
n when i use this timing
    $0200100220 NV_PFB_TIMING0 : 060a1510
    $0200100224 NV_PFB_TIMING1 : 05010306
    $0200100228 NV_PFB_TIMING2 : 00230306
my 03 mark increase a bit, but my 05 mark become lower...
    when i use timing2="00210406", i get 4810 but now i get only 4790..
anyway , thk jimmor, u really help me a lot. the last question, if i flash ur asus 6800gt bios, do u think the performance will better than now???

Although I believe it would be too much for the overclock you have, you could try Timing2 at 00210306 ??

However, the fact that your performance does not appear to benefit from any of the suggested tighter timing changes is likely because the memory chips are slower than 2.2ns types.

And since my guess is that a 6800xt is just a rebadged 6800le, it can't do any harm to try flashing with the asus 6800gt bios.

Since experience has shown that every card is different, even when from same manufacturer, the only way to know if your particular card could benefit from using another bios is by trial and error testing in the same way as you did with your original bios.

    Hi

I have Leadtek A400TDH with Arctic Cooling NV5 (65 dg.C max) 16x1, 6vs., 400/870 MHz. I have just moded Bios in accord with Jimmor's direction (voltage and timing). My problem is that I although increase frequence of core and memory from 385/800 my 3DMark05 score is same (4400). I have no artifact and temperature is ok as well. I use FW 81.94. Do you have some idea what is wrong ? Thanks for your help.
