hi guys, just a quick question... i have a Sparkle 6800GT (stock), currently using Forceware 75.90 drivers, the card now idles @ 67degC and full load up to 80degC. I didnt really check the temp with 'stock' drivers, is 67/80 a bit high? Ive seen other threads, and majority of the 6800Gts idles 45-50 and loads around 65 or so. Is my temp a bit high? Is is b/c of the drivers? If so, do i need to get a "better" cooler for the card? Any advice is appreciated
It could be driver related, but then again some cards are not affected from the driver bug. If it is from the driver bug then i'd say your hard would be idling @ 55-58degrees, your load temp is alright, nothing to worry about. In summer mine idles @ 58 and loads 78degrees, atm its 52 idle. Using 71.20 drivers
My 6800GT idles at about 65 degrees (I have an NV5 cooler installed on it). Under load it reaches the high 70's.
It is temp bug related, which affects all drivers higher than 71.81 and 6800 cards. My card idles at 63 and goes up to about 73 under load using 71.84. It should not be dangerous at those temps. All new NVIDIA forceware drivers released after 10th March will (apparently) have the temp bug corrected. 75.90 was released prior to this date and is therefore affected. Happy gaming
temps are acceptable. gpu hs/f and case cooling affects ur gpu temp. my temps are 56c idle but i have good case cooling and the leadtek cooler is awesome.
MY MSI 6800GT currently with no NV-5 (i took off bc of problems with contact), i'm currently getting idle 51 and load 80
i havent really added any case fans yet, so no airflow through the case, only has a front sucking air-in fan that came with the case.
lol it seems these forums are being invaded by us Aussies oh yes and my 6800gt runs at 50 degrees idle and 62 degress under load. Stock cooling.
