    Hi guys,

I'm buying a 6800GT in the next days, and I still haven't decided yet which one I'm going to pick.

eVGA is absolutely Nvidia reference model, and comes with Far Cry (I'm not going to get Doom3 cause I already bought it).

MSI don't come with a nice game package, but its cooler seems to be better, bigger.

So, please anyone who has personal experience with these cards say something. Positive and negative also. I don't intend to overclock the card permanently, just for a test.

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    AleX

bfg, i over clock passed those speeds easily always. i see folks with like 420/1.1. im running 425/1.2 and its cool as a babies butt and has ZERO artifacts. i justt need the volt mod because i need more powerrr. i can go to 435 at least and 1.3. its gonna be awsome i cant wait.

I too vote BFG. If u have acess to a BFG card that would be great. The reason: Customer support, great product, and its gotta shiny blue PCB + copper sink w/ dual blue fans... :D BUT out of those two, Ive I would choose the MSI because of the heatsink... hardware over software (FarCry) But thats me. ;)

Thanks guys, but I don't have the option of getting an BFG. (I live in Brazil)

    Just eVGA or MSI.

1 vote for MSI till now...

Because their usually $40 or more cheaper then what you can get an MSI for.. it will overclock just as high as the MSI in its stock form, plus comes with farcry. They have great support service and comes with the stepup program, so if you ever wanted to upgrade to an ultra.. they will exchange it for the upgrade.

But who wants to overclock bigtime with a stock cooler.. and who gets a video card for its looks (its facing down)

Just get the eVGA, slap a NV5 Artic cooler on it.. you'll have a card that runs cooler, overclocks higher most likely... and probably spend less money in the long run.

eVGA's are cheaper, but ive stayed clear of that brand since ive had many a bad problem with there brand of cards......so far Ive found my favorite companies are Leadtek, XFX, Visiontek, BFG, Gainward, etc.

I was running this card ---->
    at these speeds ------>

At 1.3 volts, before I modded to +.1
    eVga is not crap.

go for MSI. They are normally a bit better overclocker than other companies. Also MSI Craftmanship is nice........in Graphics Cards, not motherboards.

Thanks for all the answers guys!

    I like MSI a lot because I have a mobo 865PE Neo2 FIS2R which is fantastic!

I think I'm going to take MSI. As someone said, hardware over software. The thing about the cooler should be a great advantage.

How can I do this 1.4v mod?

    Regards,

    AleX
