Sorry guys can you help me locate the inductors ? I have a problem of coil whine to a reference 670 and I read around that you just put a bit of hot glue on the coils to make it stop. The 1R0 is the only one?

Thanks for reply ! I try with glue (all cover) but the noise is still, I can rule out psu because I tried two others, is the video card but I can not understand where it comes from : (

No. 1R0 may be an inductor, but it's not a core power inductor. Looks like the core power inductors are the ones labeled YAGEO R22. Looks like there are four of them. But I heard the glue method does not work on enclosed inductors like the ones on your card.

The new one can have Coil Whine aswell. I suggest you get a 670 with a 680 PCB.

I havn't had Coil Whine on nVidia Cards since my GTX 285.

Can you not clean it off? What kind of glue did you use?

the FTW 670s have minor coil whine but you can barely hear it. its like 1000x less then the 560 i previously had that drove people nuts. and by minor you would have to have the fans stopped in the case to hear it.

I beg to differ I have Evga 670 gtx FTW and that thing has terrible coil whine, that is heard over all my pc fans and there not exactly quiet just like the ECS 460 I returned for refund. I in the process of rma my psu and that dont fix it i rma the 670 and that dont work I going back to the 450gts I will deal with fan noise but I will not deal with coil noise.

So far I have RMA 2nd 460ti for same issue before I went for refund, right now the current evga 670gtx ftw screeches like banshee under any kind of load that takes more the 60% power draw

I've read of many who have made RMA but without result, or has not accepted the RMA or return a new card with the noise :bang:

Can be easily removed with fingers.

I have a soundless pc, all fans downvolt ecc... the card (zotac 670) has an accelero mounted on (I mounted for the temperatures and noise lol).

I understand my friend, I understand.. :wanker:

Ya i kind pissed. I passed up on the 460ti for the exact problem now 400$ card does. Imo this COIL/CHOKE Buzzing screaming shrieking whining what ever you want to call it is unexpectable.

If a psu can send out 700watt and not make a single coil noise then there is no reason a gpu cant.
