I was looking on newegg and I noticed that the apollo 6600gt agp and the rosewill 6600gt agp cards look the same. why is that? I was just wondering, nothing is wrong. I get great performance with this card. Apollo 6600GT AGP Rosewill 6600GT AGP

They're probably both identical to the Nvidia reference design

??? They don't look identical. I just realised that Albatron also has the same card and AFAIK they all sell the same software except that the packaging looks different.

They're all pretty much the same (referrence) design. Some choose to apply a custom HSF. But what makes the difference is the quality of the parts used. Unfortunately, you cannot tell that until you buy the card :( Sometimes not even then.

well, I'm satisfied with my card. It's not the greatest overclocker. I can get moderately high but I can only hold that overclock for a few minutes before heavy artifacting so I just stay at 500/1000 from the stock 500/900. I probably just have crappy airflow since it's just at factory made pc from sony.

Is that one of the sonys with a funny shapped case. Also that sort of overclock on stock cooling is pretty good.

You may want to get better video coolers. They are not expensive.

I know. I'm considering getting a zalman once I have enough money. I don't think my case is the funny shaped kind. I'll show you a pic. [IMG]

Yep, go for the Zalman cooler. You won't regret it.

Cool case, we don't get Sony PCs here.

thanks. I think it looks cool. the psu isn't bad either even though it's only a factory made 300W one.

300w is not sufficient power mate. Something 430-450w should ensure you have no instability problems. Seriously.

If you just add 1 more fan, you may experience bootup, crashing, etc problems.

I didn't know the Geforce 6 series was an FX card. The Apollo one says Geforce FX series on it and Roswell just says Geforce series.

MSI AGP has a pretty nice cooler on it. It's Reference, except there are thermalpads on the memory, and the heatsink is made from copper. It's 500/900 stock and i get mine up to 550/1230. Very fast ****.

It's not an FX series card. I have no idea why they put that on there. It's misleading.
