Hey, guys. I'm building a PC and I want to know whether I should get a 600W or a 750W power supply. Here are the expected components: Graphics: SLI 2x EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0 Processor: Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5 GHz Motherboard: MSI ATX DDR3 2400 LGA 1150 Motherboard RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz HDD: WD Black 1TB HDD: 3.5-inch, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM SSD: Maybe or maybe not any 240-250GB one (recommendation please) Which of the following power supply should I get: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Corsair CX Series 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Since I'm on a budget, I'd also like to know if the following motherboard is any different from the one I mentioned above: MSI Computer Corp. Motherboard ATX DDR3 1333 LGA 1150 Motherboard Thanks.
My suggestion would be to not go 960 sli and just go with a single 970 and the 600W unit would be enough for that. With a single 970 you would save about $70 and the performance difference is only about 10-15% plus you get more VRAM with the 970.
What Loop said, going low or mid end SLI is not a good idea in general. In most games you'll see a single 970 perform better than 960 SLI.
Im personally of a firm belief that you should always go a bit over what you think is necessary on a PSU. i would reccomend a 750 or an 800 just so you can have some wiggle room.
