    Power Color 7970 @ 1100
    driver 12.8, 12.8 cap 2, radeon pro, 650 psu, msi p67
Well anyway, i noticed that the gpus are not syncing causing microstutter. Anyone else notice this or have a way of fixing? I tried an 1100 watt single rail psu and still the same. I know there have been other posts but none corresponding to the gpu's not syncing. Is there a way to test the pcie slot or another way to see if the video card is not getting enough juice? But in my opinion its the drivers. And yes i disabled all power savings crap all around. Thank you for any input.

    MSI P67A-GD65 + Corsair HX850 pro + i5 2500k@4.5 Ghz + 8 Go ddr3 + 2x 5970 artic modded at 900/1200 (One is MY GPU, second is test card). 12.7 + 12.8 cap 2

1st boot is ok for me (msi bios 1.J0) for working but game crashing immediately.

    Testing with Corsair HX1050 :

1st boot it's ok for working but game crashing immediately.

    Testing with Corsair AX1200 (not new/last "i" version) :

1st boot it's ok for working and games running perfectly. @940/1250 for two card is OK.

With my computer (1x 5970 artic modded @940/1250) my seasonic S12 500w and my Fortron 700w doesn't have necessary power for my 5970, at this time HX850 it's best PSU (with very stable 12v) for 1 card.

1200 watts PSU needed for 2x 5970 because this card is VERY GOOD but needed too more power ( just 380-500 watts/card, mine at 940/1250 = 595-605 watts).

which games? i've seen bf3 beta & crysis2 not align properly in the gpu usage numbers (where an alt tab fixed it)

5970 cf.... you mean quad cf? or a single 5970?

    You said 5970 crossfire, for me 5970 crossfire = 2x 5970 card :)

Game tested at 1920x1200 (the 16/10 power :p):

BF3, Crysis 1/warhead/2, Compagny of heroes, supreme commander FA, Deus EX (3), driver SF, nfs TR, syndicate, skyrim (hd pack), Game ofThrone, sniper elite v2, dirt Showdoon, Max Payne 3, Ghost recon FS, Spec ops the line, inversion, prototype 2, darksiders 2, diablo 3, sleeping dog and unigine + 3dmark.

    2x 5970 gain more performance (+10/+70%) too 1x5970 but :

    - Certains games have stuttering problem (skyrim doesn't like ATI card) <= not corrected because it's AFR problem
    - Certains games doesn't gain more power due to graphic engine
    - ATI doesn't update 4 card "crossfire X" driver <= most game are stuttering and doesn't well corrected anytime

    - Old game running well, performance is very good with 1x5970 (in my home, my 5970@900/1250 = 670 gtx with turbo, at 940/1250 my 5970 win for 95% of game :p)
    - But need TOO more PSU power for small gain because 1x 5970 is fastest card ( http://www.hardware-infos.com/grafikkarten_charts.php <= 5th).

    Using :

    - last intel chipset driver Intel Chipset 9301021
    - last msi bios : 1.J0 (corrected VGA card error)
    - win 7 x64 pro
    - ATI catalyst 12.7 + 12.8 cap 3
