5970 crazy score?

  1. Bodar is using just one Single Xeon....but its a hexacore hence why you cannot compete with his cpu scores :) What an awesome chip!

I'm aware of that ,but for benching purposes I know that I can go further than this
for gaming it reach the limit ,is no going to get any better without xF
but even so I get to were I hoping to get for know
perhaps in the future when the army is not obstacle anymore
then I be able to take to new levels
benchmarks and extreme OC can very addicting hobby :biggun:

Got my system first time stable after weeks.

Here is my actual result with PhysX On.
I only have a 1000W PSU so I think, this is almost maxed out for a stable system.

that nice for the first time, you got a huge window of oc potential with that rig
another sapphire would really make it shine
but the end for gaming that is more than enough with the games that come out this days ,even mass effect 2 my three year old macbook pro can run it at max lol:3eyes:
But I still have hope Crysis 2 even when they are doing it for consoles too:biggun:

    without Physx looks like this:

I have here 2x EK5970 waterblock on my desk for the last weeks!!
Guess why?? I faced the same 'cold bug' as you my Lord!
Nearly went crazy cause I thought I destroyed something when updated the cards and my rig for water.

Now CPU, Mainboard, Mosfets and Ram under water - but not the cards!
Sounds like a dustcleaner when running vantage! :bang:

I am using a really big radiator cooling outside my house. Temps here in Germany are always below 0°C since X-Mas (right now -4°).
When installed the cards first time under water GPU's and VRM's at idle around 3°C. Results: pixel flimmering, grey screens, black screens, lockups even under Bios! So the cards are back under air cooling and work fine! WTF!!! Using now the 10.1 crash hotfix and the rig is fully stable for days now! But I don't know, what will happen, when I reinstall the waterblocks. :bang:

I never have the coldbug my card came vaccine lol the performance on water is solid so far, I did have some other issues but they are resolved
    do you still got it?
I ask for the second run to confirm something
what up with your cpu score?
you should get a lot more at those clocks
seriously what is holding you back to get really high score

Tried to solve this 'cold bug thing' by all proposals I could find in the net:
    a) set ULPS to '0'
    b) set GPU cores and mem profile for all GPU's to 400/900 at idle
    c) tried all drivers and hotfixes
    d) cleaned the harddisk and setup windows once again right from the start
-> lockup's even under windows installation starting with a single card!! :bang: No way to fix it!!

Is my CPU score so bad? I am so happy that the system is stable now - what to check for in the bios? Don't know what is holding me back :3eyes: any idea?

well is not that is bad but is just that something don't look right
    when I see 20k on 950 and I get almost 28k with my 920 at 4.5
at 4.4ghz that is your current speed I get 26,600 on my old 920 co
perhaps your bios are not optimized
what the score at stock clocks and your bios oc settings
I notice that your multiplier is 22x200, is your cpu unlocked ?

Don't know the score at stock clocks with this setup so far.
Surely I did not work on all bios settings.
Here is what I setup in the bios:
    Ai Overclock Tuner - manual
    CPU Level - auto
    mem level - auto
    cpu ratio - 22
    bclk - 200
    pcie - 100
    dram - 1603Mhz
    UCLK - 3208
    QPI link - auto
    EPU II - full phase
    load line - enabled
    cpu different amp - auto
    extreme ov - disabled
    cpu volt - 1.45
    cpu pll - auto
    QPI /Dram core - auto
    IOH - auto
    ICH - auto
    Dram bus - 1.65
    c1e - enable
    hardware pref - enable
    adjacent cache - enable
    intel virt tech - disable
    cpu tm - dis
    execute disable bit - disable
    intel ht - disable
    active pro cores - all
    a20m - disable
    intel speedstep - enable
    intel turbo mode - enable
    c-state - disable
ram settings: now everything on auto (9 9 24)

    CPU is unlocked

    Any suggestion??

    Try to enable HT.
Also get rid of the PhysX/Nv software.

Also test it some time ago with a 9600GT for PhysX and got even a lower score with PhysX than a clean setup (remove 9600gt/physx/nv drivers) Somehow with the PhysX-hack is holding back the score, or the drivers weren't installed properly.:(

OC at those speed can be tricky
even when it pass all the stability tests
you don't get the real gain without finding the best balance
just with the advice from bodar at the same clocks it get a 1000p gain today
I use cinebench r10 this my more useful tool to test
i get 33 secs in the cpu rendering test, this stress all cores to 100%
and is fast, so it this don't crash .vantage will pass too
it save you the time of going to those longs gpu test to find that the cpu test crash :bang:

checking the HT in a minute

before I installed PhysX the CPU score was 19500 @ 4.2 air
so this should not be the issue holding the CPU score back

    what about QPI?
    what about PLL?
    any suggestion?

    My cpu score @ 4315MHz is 25150 (HT/Turbo on)

5000points different with only 100Mhz more?

See the difference with HT off and on (pic 2+3) So Enable HT ;)

well I not an expert in the matter but I try
and your cpu is a little different than mine, so what work for me no necessary going to work for you ,but this what I did
your board is similar so that help

    starting from scratch
    extreme OC
    XMP profile
I don't know if your 12g support that
    multiplier 21
    turbo power limit disabled
    blk 215

    cpu volt 1.4750+/-
    qpi volt 1.30
    memory speed at 1720mhz +/-
everything else should be at auto or enable by default
    that get you 4.520 ghz
you going to have to play with them for a while to get it right
and since is on water perhaps you can go beyond
mine I'm yet to find a stable oc for beyond 4.6
it get really hard at this point
    but that's my 24/7 oc

thanks for your quick replies! HT On gives a much better CPU result!
On the other hand the GPU tests visibly slow down!
I can see in the test, when one of the 4 gpu's is halted for some seconds.
    Maybe I reach PSU max?

Here is my new personal record bench for today: :flip2: at GPU speed 800Mhz only!! (Would love to install back the EK waterblocks :)

WOW! That's some really extreme proposals ;-)
Before the watercooling I never reached with the Ram more than BLCK200 stable! Tried few days ago again but not successful.
Same thing for the CPU beyond 1.45 - not stable
but will try again ... step by step ... expensive system for my pockets you know:gape:
