Installed Ausu 5770 (Egg cooler) today and installed fine but having few issues on the boot. When i go to start up the PC lights, fans etc turn on but my 5770 fan speeds up and down for 20-30sec, after which time monitor comes on and everything kicks into action. After this point all runs fine and no issues. Spec: Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 4gb of Corsair TwinX XMS2 Corsair HX520W Drivers up to date Sure i read in the past other people having same problem with 57** and 58**, but cant seem to find the info about it. Anyone have idea on this problem?? or fix to it would be great Thanks.
the problem is that youre trying to run an ati card on an nvidia motherboard. the new ati 5000 series requires the motherboard to support it... good luck convincing nvidia to release a bios update to support their competitor... the boot up issue doesnt exist on most intel based chipsets or amd based chipsets.
I guess this explains the issues I have with my ASUS nVidia Chipset board and both ATI cards, during the first couple of screens on the windows 7 setup, the computer just sits doing nothing for up to 5 minutes a screen, but once installed, all is fine?
^ Magicdave for minutes? thats a pretty long time, mine just waits for 10-20 seconds. Though I have XP not Win7 yet... I have an ASUS mobo that has a Nvidia intergrated chip, of course no problems with my previous X1950PRO.
Got an ASUS mobo as well with an Nvidia chipset on but no problems on booting starts normally on Win 7
Yup, easily 4-5 minutes per setup screen before the install, but once installed no issues, I also had the X1950XT and had none of these issues with that card in this board either
p5n-em wait so the first time you installed the card, it gave the problem but now theres no problem right?
have you tried it to another system see if u get the same thing? If its working now then ok but i suggest this just to make sure it isnt any kind of flaw with your card that could cause any troubles later
