I always wondered what the actual differences between Desktop and laptop drivers were. I guess there was some back in the day, but the way it seems now - Nvidia has merged the branches altogether.

The solution I posted earlier with the .bat file will compress the drivers further by over 20%. I noticed @Eviltoaster started doing it with the 497.29 release. Put a .bat file in the Display.Driver directory with the following code:
    Code:
    @echo off
    expand -r *.??_
    del *.??_
    rename *.dl *.dl_
    rename *.ex *.ex_
    rename *.sy *.sy_
    rename *.bi *.bi_
    rename *.ic *.ic_
You can do this with any release directly from NVIDIA or one that hasn't already gone through this process.

I am stuck with 472.19 drivers due to Nvidia installing telemetry reducing the hash rate of their 3090s.

I like to mine when I am not gaming, any idea how to get rid of this telemetry from their drivers?

Uninstall your current drivers using DDU then install these clean drivers. They don't include telemetry, so you should be good. Installing GeForce Experience reinstalls telemetry, though, FYI. I don't mine with my card, so I couldn't tell you for sure if this removes the hash rate limiter.

What are the fundamental differences between the two drivers (Standard vs DCH) outside of a different packaging method and a store attached control panel (which makes more sense anyways)?

so where can i find the last clean version that is supported by windows 7? (472.12)? or maybe is there any "better" (older) driver especially for 900-Series and win7?

    thx

problem with creating custom rez and refresh rate within nvcpl...
trying higher refresh rate for hdmi output, can go up to 100 hz easily with all previous drivers but when testing custom rez, screen keeps black (input not supported).
after manual power off and on, custom rez is stored and working !
first time ever with this issue
DDU cleanup before install as usual...

Rolled back to 497.09, hdmi signal lost after some time with custom rez and refresh rate...
Never had such issue with any older drivers

The 511.23 is so much smaller with 407mb vs the last 4xx.xx with ~700mb, whats the difference?
    And thanks alot for repacking/cleaning!
