Der8auer did a test with Gigabyte branded 5000 GHz DDR4 Ram sticks in combination with a Ryzen 3900x and the conclusion was that it wasn't really worth the money for a typical gamer setup. There were some benefits for heavily memory bound applications, but that was about it.

There are people who would give a monthly salary of life, just for 1 fps!

Can't imagine Corsair targeting anyone aside from a certain "niche" clientele. I wonder what the point of no return is with these overclocked DDR4 kits? Loose timings, high voltages and now increasingly higher operating frequencies. Seems futile

Funny how ppl always assume you have to be brain dead to spend that kind of money on a 16gb kit.
How about someone that makes +100k a year, no kids or other things to worry about, and is fine with wasting their earned cash on stuff like this instead of drugs and the like?

How about a good bottle of wine and an escort? I mean, this is just stupid imo if you can have 98% the same performance with 1/10 of the value.
Plus, I'd think that people who make that kind of money would be smart enough to skip on this and get something between 3600 and 4000 Mhz.

I may not make 100k+ an year but I have enough money in the bank to buy this kit instantly and not feel it.

    Will I do it ?
    No, because it's stupid.

What I did buy is an $160 kit that CAN be overclocked to that level (or more), assuming I would want that
    https://pcper.com/2019/05/ddr4-overclocking-world-record-set-using-micron-e-die-memory/ (Ballistix Elite)

    Do I want that ?
No, because it provides no benefit over the 3733 Mhz I'm already running it at (with 1:1 link to IF, and lowest possible latency)

The fact that a product is stupidly expensive doesn't make it a good product.

Being fine with doing something doesn't mean you are bright for doing it. Every time i pay 2$ CAD for 250ML of Red Bull i know i'm being 100% stupid. Me being fine with it doesn't mean i'm not brain dead when i do it cause i surely am. Paying 1225$ for 2-3 fps is stupid no matter how much money you got. You could donate this money to a family having a sick kid and having trouble paying the bills because of that. Or better you could keep it for later in life cause man 100k is nothing in 2019.

    New version, not blurred/censored anymore.

3733 is THE BEST for all existing Zen 2 CPU's so far. Anything more will not bring any tangible benefits on this generation.
Let's wait for Threadripper or Zen 3 to see if more than 3733 is necessary.
