Not so "finewine" right now, but I'm sure the driver updates will come soon.

Makes me wonder if FSR3 will ever come out when AMD doesn't even have enough resource for drivers developement

AMD dedicated to calm down the damage that was done with the 7900 series, and paint it on a better light.
It's actually very logical and i don't think we should have our pitchforks ready yet, RX6000 series are at very good and stable shape.

I agree - they seem to be, indeed, full focused on fixing all of the issues with the latest release.

Im having no driver issues with my 6800xt.
No games I play need a new driver but if done doesn't come soon, I can see a lot of passed off people.

Kinda weird with the discussion since most new products should get bugfixes asap while older but stable products can get by until more QA has been applied to official drivers.

Didn't the 40x0 RTX series also have hotfix or faster driver updates as well until the universal drivers were updated?

Ignore my comments from, the previous thread -

Noticed something after clean install (with personal settings removed) with this driver on my 7900XTX driver 23.1.2. I can now use my 2nd monitor at 85Hz instead of 60Hz with low power 45watts. Other monitor is on 2560x1440 144Hz. It's an improvement, good to see things being ironed out.

    Monitor DisplayPort versions are 1.2
    2x 1440p Acer 144Hz monitors

Why is it even called "proprietary"? Was there ever an open source driver that this one needs to be called "proprietary///////;.

I just want to know if it improves performance by any notable amount. I'd be happy if they've improved performance by even 5% on 1% lows and average fps vs release. That, and you know, maybe fix some of those games that are suspiciously performing like dogshit. Too many games (honestly, even 1 would be too many) have similar performance between a 6950XT and a 7900XTX, that shouldn't be.

I've been saying for a long time - AMD's (outsourced) graphics driver team is thin. Too thin. Way too thin. With every new product generation they release these shortcomings become more apparent. That being said. There are APIs and standards that game programmers are supposed to be programming for. The graphic card provider should not be having to develop profiles for every game that comes down the pipe. It should be the other way around. I think its a 2 fold problem, GPU manufacturers need to be releasing drivers from day zero that are better tested and debugged, and providing better tools to game developers, and developers need to invest more interest into optimizing their game for said platforms.

you're clearly forgetting the days when you wouldn't get a driver update for >3 months at a time, things are actually pretty good by comparison to old amd.

    Interesting...
I wanted to comment this news yesterday, and ended up commenting this one instead :

    I don't know how I managed to do that ! ^_^

    ----

I don't have problems on Windows 10 with my RX7900XT from XFX, but I played "old" games (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Division 2, Witcher III, AC Odyssey, etc).

I saw the 80W used by the videocard when my 2 screens are on, but only 20W with one screen.

On Linux, I had to use the proprietary drivers, or, the AMD's open source one, I don't really know.
The all open-source ones are kernel 6.x only and I have kernel 5.15 with my Ubuntu 22.04LTS.
I tried to do some thing explained in Reddit, but it failed whereas the AMD drivers works for now.

The problem is that they are not updated since the card's launch.

It's certainly a little strange, I haven't seen amd/nvidia ignoring all but the latest gen in the drivers for months before.

yeah you'd have to update the kernel to get mainline support, but that would kind of defeat the point of LTS.
