Hello fellow guru 3d members, desisions need to be made and i could use some expert help My system: 8700 K RTX 2080 TI 32 gig ram My games : i play shooters (most of the time) race games ,strategy games etc .... playing for about 4/5 years on a Dell widescreen 3440 x 1440 60 hz and im ready for the next level ever since CES 2018 i was eager to get my hands on a BFG display ( 65 inch,4 K, 120/144 Hz, gsync ,HDR VA panel ) HP finally released their OMEN imperium 65, but to be honest i expected better revieuws ( lots of mixed feelings as far as i could read ) and it deff. does not come cheap either...so i wanna be sure before i buy this big procreating display my second option is the LG ultragear 38gl950g , price and release unknown (3840 x 1600 res, 144/175 hz, G-sync NO HDR , nano IPS panel ) A 38 inch screen with some descent refresh rates,g Sync. capable of running most games with 1 gpu @ descent frames (because its not full 4K res) and my last option and most ``safe option`` is the soon to be released Asus PG35VQ (35 inch 3440 x 1440, OC to 200 hz,G-sync HDR VA panel) witch as most of you know doesnt comme cheap either to conclude my biggest concers : 1.How does 1 RTX 2080 ti handle 4K games , i just like my games as maxed as possible in singel player games 2. Is 65 inch just ridiculus BIG to game on ,was planning to wallmount this thing and put my desk away (got a max of 2 meter/6,5 feet) from the wall, 3. IPS vs VA..... i know this is a very person based discusion Thx for reading my bad English ,its not my native language as you`ve probably noticed
I can't see myself playing a game on a giant screen across a room. The crazy thing is that they actually make 15" 4K monitors! https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Por...tor+raspberry&qid=1561825741&s=gateway&sr=8-9
I've found my 2080 Ti is pretty comfortable pulling off 4K 60 in most games. Obviously, turning on ray tracing can hammer that down at ultra settings but I've been incredibly pleased with it and the monitor I chose, the Acer Predator XB271HK. There are definitely games though that I can tell would be hitting 100 FPS and having a higher refresh rate would be nice but I'll wait for more 4K high refresh rate options to drop in price. Something that can be very nice to have though is Gsync or Freesync as if the framerate does drop at least the monitor can adapt a bit rather than chopping frame rates if you have vsync on or the tearing if you don't. I can tell you that having had Gsync now and no longer dealing with that has been fantastic. Tearing at 4K is pretty horrendous without it. For IPS versus VA, like you say, it's really subjective. IPS glow has been getting better with newer monitors but luck of the draw can still get pretty bad. VA will have better contrast but may have more ghosting. Honestly, both should be fine for gaming at this point. If color accuracy is crucial that might swing you towards IPS but for most users both look great at this point.
I believe that 4K not need, at least for the PC. But in your case on ultra settings in 4K should be 30 fps, in some 60.
