No HDMI 2.1 sockets for PS5 or XBSX.

Could be the replacement for my xb321hk ! If it weren't for the lack hdmi 2.1, so we wouldn't have to use freggin compression...

Is 10bitHDR+144Hz+4K possible on DP 1.4 at least with RGB or 4:4:4?

I thought display compression allowed it with no compromise?

Still its funny how expensive this monitor is going to be and they could throw in a HDMI 2.1 connection just for the sake of it?

Well... there aint any compression that is no compromise... displayport compression is just less of a compromise than 4:2:2. But i don't believe there will be enough bandwidth with 4k,10 bit hdr, 144 hz, unless it's hdmi 2.1. Could ofc lower it to 8 bit, wouldn't change much for games.

Display Port 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 are needed asap to become standard as default inputs. Overpriced junk of the past we buy now don't we? I'll pass with devil's laugh!

Nice amount of local dimming zones and 1400 HDR spec all amazing. Now if only they made a cheaper 1440p (240hz) version like the G7 i'd buy one tomorrow.

Lol they announced this monitor in January 2020 and still isn't out yet. This is like the fourth "premiere" monitor in a row ASUS announces like years before it comes out. Makes it feel like last years technology.

    I'd rather have a 32" OLED

Came here to say this, this monitor is WAAAAY overdue, hence the HDMI 2.0 I'd wager. They should've reworked the internals in the meantime, given the likely pricing this is now a hard pass for me, though I would've jumped at it 18 months ago at 'almost' any price.

At this point, if this monitor is over $1,400 then I would rather get an OLED 43 inch from LG. They should definitely hold this back and upgrade the mainboard as, many 4K 120 monitors are coming out.

I have the LG CX 48" and would recommend it! Besides my LG 4k 144hz (160 oc) I use my CX everyday. Plus, it's great for my ps5 and xbox series x gaming. The only drawback i've experienced is the input lag compared to gaming monitors. But idt competitive gamers would use a 48" screen anyhow. It's a great experience. You should be able to get a cx for a little cheaper than I did for $1500 as the C1 (2021) is or will be out soon.

Hard to believe that you can observe the difference in input lag, in game mode, on a CX vs any other monitor.

Anyway, what I don't like about this Asus is that they're using an IPS! But just why? No matter the dimming zones, the display will have to cope with that "extreme" 1000:1 contrast, which is so very bad.
