hopefully this is the right thread for this, I'm a noob here

Issues when playing BF2. With AA on any setting I am getting white see through ground. With it off I get the ground but black moving dots on the ground. Worked perfect for the last few months but started doing this a month or 2 ago. I had same issue a few months after original purchase and local dealer I get all my gear from replaced it and one I have now worked great after replacement until recently. I can play Grid full out settings 1920x1200 and no issues, seems only with BF2. Also original card was with my old system running Vista 64. New card worked fine with my upgraded system and Windows 7 Pro 64bit, I7 920 1366, Asus RampageII Gene MOBO. Never an issue with Nvidia dual 8800GTS in SLI before getting 4870x2. I religiously update Windows and all other software including ATI Catalyst

If I'm in the wrong thread, I'm sorry and would appreciate help of where to post this

    Thanks

it's Battlefield 2, 5 years old. Have latest patch for game, latest ATI 10.2 Catalyst. Weird that worked perfect for quite awhile on both cards I've had and then the same issue again. I am not OCing card, run fan at 70% with temps in 40c range.

I have Beta of Bad Company2, COD4 also and they run perfect at full out settings. Only game I have issues with is Battlefield 2.

i was going to get a 5970 this week ,but theres not one to be found in all the online stores i use in Denmark, so while i have been waiting i have been researching at it seems that 2x 5850 in cross fire give the same if not better performance in most tests, so i might go for 2 of them instead.
as i dont fancy waing a couple of weeks for the 5970...:)

Yeah I've been debating myself if I should dual up this time or stay on the Multi GPU wagon another round.

In the meantime my 4870 x2 hasnt let me down. If I upgrade it's gotta match the 5970 performance or its not worth the price just to get DX11, as this card performance pretty close to the 5870 minus a few games and DX11.

Have been using my 5970 for like 2 months now.

My tri fire still kept safely at home.

My 5970 actually beat my tri fire score in vantage no thanks to the kick ass voltage OC.

Had to RMA my 4870x2,I guess they will send me back a 5870 card since the 4870x2 is hard to find.

Meanwhile I've ordered a separate 5870 and I hope that I get another one in exchange for my 4870x2,it was a good card.

    But time goes on.

    Hi,

Recently I put my HD4870x2 under water in the same loop with cpu i3 540 and not satisfied with temps.
It's 90°C max at VDDC after gaming according to GPU-Z.
    System components:
Swiftech MCP350 pump + EK TOP
+ Magicool Extreme III 120.3 rad
    + EK Multioption 150 res
    + 3 x Scythe 1900 rpm fans
    + 3/8" fittings&tubing
+ Ek Supreme LT cpu block
    +Aquagratix 4870x2 block.
Radiator is placed on the bottom of the case with fans pulling air out.
All this is inside Gigabyte Aurora 3d case.
Fans are pulling the air out from the radiator inside a case.

Maybe VRM's have a bad physical contact with the block?
    Any opinions?

    Guys,

    my specs below

MSI 790FXGD70 maybe upgrade to 890FXGD70
    AMD Phenom2 965 @ 4.0Ghz v1.42
    8Gb OCZ Platinum PC3-16000 rated 2000Mhz running at Dual Channel 1600Mhz 1T 9-11-11-24
    X-Fi Titianium Pro 64mb X-Ram PCi-E
    His Radeon 4870x2
    Toshiba 37" HDTV 1920*1080p

Now im tempting to get a 5970, would this be a good upgrade or should i wait for the femi 480, i know alot of people are having problems with there 5970 not maxing it out.

    What to do ?

    Thanks all
