Can anyone recommend a card which is at least as good as the 4870 2GB but has DX11, and can still be driver-upgraded to a Firepro? Doesn't have to be the latest model.

    Thanks

4870 is similar to 7770 gaming performance wise, and the 7770 is an r7 250x. But i dont know about the firepro part, couldn't find anything on google.

I haven't found anyone that's claimed success with doing so yet, and it's sure as hell not for lack of trying.

Former HD 5770 user here. Upon release it was between the 4850 and 4870 in performance. But the 5770 benefited from the years of hard work that went into improving the drivers for the profitable 58xx line and it eventually roughly matched the 4870 in power while outperforming it in some games designed around the 5xxx series cards.

Maybe that will help in identifying hacked drivers? Or maybe the 5770 is too new a card for any modding.

Edit: I forgot that you are talking about 2 GB cards. The 5770 was only 1 GB, afaik.
