If i understand good, for gtx that have rtx features, i do install rtx clean, right?

 

yup, that is correct.

 

so, do these drivers, without rtx, work on win10 1709 with a 2070 card? some conflicting info whenever I look around, I want to run win10 1709 with as new as possible drivers without RTX features, some people say you cant even install the latest whql driver on anything older than 1809 :S

 

I don't have an RTX card, however, download a clean BareBones version and give it a go. What's the worst thing that is going to happen?

 

yeh I don't have it either yet but will soon, and would just like to know before making clean install of windows 1709 etc, so I don't have to find out it doesn't work and then have to reinstall clean again with older driver / newer windows, etc. would prefer to use 1709 for a few reasons tied to exclusive fullscreen mode presentation that changed with 1809..


ah well, will have to experiment when it's time I guess :s

@cryohellinc can you please do a clean and .ini patched version of the Quadro driver too? Thank you for your work.

 

Refer to the first post, there is a manual cleaning guide in the spoiler which can be applied to Quadro (or any other) driver.

 

I looked at the OP and noticed you keep the "PPC" folder, I've always deleted that one when I do mine, what is "PPC"?

 

It contains USBC driver necessary for RTX cards, hence why BareBones version doesn't have it.

 

You can just clean the drivers your self using Nvidia Slimmer program which is here on G3D

It takes literally less than a 2 minutes for it to create a repackage of just the core files.

 

Yet there are people that prefer to use a pre-cleaned version. Slimmer is linked in OP as an option.

 

Might give this a try anyway, see if it fixes some stuff I can't really point my finger to for now.

 

It fixed csgo for me, when alt tabbing the game would take a while to load back in, now its instant.

You might wanna check the RTX version if I run setup I get error system path not found
