Can anyone tell me which radeon ui dependency to download for the 22.1.1 insight release for my r9 390 gpu? There seems to be two kernels. V15 and V21

    R9 390 is GCN 2.0 so use kernel V15 with V3.5 dependency

after you place the ccc2_gcn_install.exe in dependencies, select option number 3 to install the ui (22.1.1 gcn insight release)

Just a question, why don't you just ship it directly now? The size isn't a problem, and people won't really use UWP anymore. We have to download CCC almost anyways, so nothing is saved, just confusion for newbies.

    1. Different GPU arch and driver version use different UI version, as you see in the previous post

GCN Adrenalin UI - Classic Apps Version
    Adrenalin V3.5 > for 21.6.1 - 21.12.1
    Adrenalin V3.5 > for Insight 21.12.1 - 22.1.1 Kernel V15
    Adrenalin V4.0 > for Insight 21.12.1 - 22.1.1 Kernel V21

    RADEON UI DEPENDENCIES (SELECT ONE):
Adrenalin UI (Polaris/Vega/Navi) - Classic Apps Version
    Adrenalin V3.1 > 21.6.1 - 21.8.1
    Adrenalin V3.2 > 21.8.2
    Adrenalin V4.0 > 21.9.1 - 21.11.2
    Adrenalin V4.0 > 21.Q3.1 - 21.Q3.2
    Adrenalin V4.5 > 21.12.1 - 22.1.1 Insight
    Adrenalin V4.5 > 21.12.1 Insight LTS

You don't need to download these again if the driver version is same or above works with current UI version (ofc it confirmed by author). Only download these ccc2, if latest release isn't compatible with previous release (you know, mismatched version)

    2. There are some users that don't need to install UI, just drivers only. Although it's not much as general user

beta doesn't mean it has no whql, most of latest amd optional drivers are beta with WHQL. If it isn't, then you can't play most games with DRM protection and anti-cheat

you need to double check at dxdiag

Nice work on the driver! seems to be working fine with my hd7950, but I'm wondering if it's possible to change the driver to identify my gpu as a 7950 boost instead of the 280? I'm unsure if this impacts how the card clocks itself at all/if it's necessary.

It shouldn't affect how cards behave. Its only for compatibility reason, newer game propably won't have info about HD 7000 series, but R9 200 series could be mentioned. HD 7950 and R9 280 are twins, using same Graphics Processor.

Hello guys, is there a way to have running both my RX590 and HD5770 with this driver?

    How i ended up here:
I have installed my old hd5770 to use it as host gpu output on a linux kvm setup, but since i play games that are incompatible with VMs I have a windows installation in dual boot. Problem is that the new windows driver doesn't provide support to old models and when I install the old official driver (manually cuz I don't need CatalystUI) gpu is detected for like 30 secs before starting to mess with the Adrenalin UI (error about incompatible hardware) and windows starts alternating between detecting/not detecting the card while messing with peripherals (mouse stops working). If this driver manages to support both gpus while keeping WHQL up that would be huge <.< if not well I will live with a black screen...

Polaris + Terascale dx11 can't, but old GCN1-3 + Terascale dx11 can. Since polaris gpu released in June 2016 and terasacle driver ended in Feb 2016 there's nothing to do, unless the kernel itself allowing use different service name. Like for example old terascale dx11 use HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atikmdag and newer gpu use HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\amdkmdag. Already tried it with different service name but driver won't start

Well seems like my idea that some files were interfering with each other is true...
Thanks anyway, It's cool that modded drivers still exist, keep the work going :D

Tbh since I can't stand that a perfectly working card can't be used I will keep trying,. It's a shame that amd haven't even thought about this possibility while dismissing everything :/
Do you mind if I dm you some questions in the near future? I would like to try myself with the renaming services etc...

I already tried renaming the services, but the driver won't start, resulting error on code 43. The driver atikmdag.sys or amdkmdag.sys only accept servicing name under name "amdkmdag".

Therefore if i manage to edit the .sys related to the ATI gpu to accept an other service name it should work am I right?

I don't know if this conversation is out of scope here, so if you think it is we can move to DMs
