I soo agree with you on this statement.

Either way i still think that 3DMark should NOT include the CPU score within the final result.

I am starting to wonder who actually wastes money on this software that keeps it alive everyone I know that has it is a Demo or a hacked edition in one way or another

Let the threads begin about 3dMark08!

Crock of sh**. If you can play the game with 60+ FPS with everything maxed you're got a hell of a setup...

No Vantage is the new PCMark. The 3DMark will be named 3DMark Next. (source: ComputerBase) But since this name is really crap I will continue to count years :p

And we'll probably only be able to get 1 benchmark from the system and have to buy it afterwards

.... my mind tells me i want to see what it looks like when it's running..... but my heart tells me who gives a sh*t. it's just gonna bring about a whole new dawn of e-p*nis enhancement threads/posts/questions/etc... because someone's getting 585x 3DMarks instead of the 586x that someone else is getting with a nearly identical system.

3dmark is about getting the high artificial score out of your hardware. Which means

To test, without effort, if the settings (what ever it might be) improved your system or not. for what you might call ''the 3dmark'' game which is that small bit of animation that you see, you guys seem to complain that 3dmark does not represent real in game action, then don't use it.

You are too good for 3dmark and 3dmark is not for you

Personnally I'll continue using it and will buy the vantage version when I have this new rigg that I'm looking to buy, because I'm lazy and do not want to have to spend time to test it in different games, I'll use the score and continue tweaking.

Also this is INTENTED for vista users, why do you complain you use xp and the version for xp is 3d06 which you are also complaining about.

This program is clearly not for you

Although I agree Games do not give numbers based on how hardware and software reacts with each other.. only Image Quality. Today most people require numbers which is what our society is based on being Math as a whole.

I wonder if this will cause people to switch to Vista sooner, or get ignored because of the Vista requirement.

Can't blame Futuremark, it's Microsoft's fault that DX10 is only available on Vista.
