I think the clue is in the name, they added "Interactive", 3DFX Interactive, maybe they're releasing a VR headset or getting into the peripheral market.
When I search the United States Patent and Trademark Office, it says "3DFX INTERACTIVE", as a trademark, has been cancelled already on April 10, 2004. Does it mean it could have been reregistered by anyone already after that date? Or perhaps the original owner could have prevented that maybe until the expiration date you mentioned? I reckon it's a good thing I'm not a patent/trademark lawyer, haha.
Doesn't sound reasonable--nVidia bought 3dfx at the bankruptcy fire sale to bury 3dfx--to keep the company trademarks and tech buried. So either this is simply a prank or else nVidia is going to use the name for some sort of off-brand nVidia GPUs. But, I really don't think that makes much sense, either... I vote: prank.
Even if it's a prank, a small part of me would want a modern Voodoo card after having owned both Voodoo2, 3 and 5 back in the day.
Possibility of a 3DFX RTX 4000 ABG "Actually Buyable by Gamers" series where the mainstream card is at an affordable MSRP, can run any game in at least Very High @ 60FPS in 1440p resolution, and is actually in-stock upon release day? If not then I could care less what it is. Although the most likely explanation for this post in the year 2021 is a Troll.
I don't remember what other tech site that it was I also read about this but it was said the picture posted was fan made and it was made in 2014
Yea expect a marketing scheme like the rtx super , now it be rtx voodoo series LOL , just waiting for the newest BFG and XFX gpu's to launch now
Non-verified twitter account. Anyone one of us could be behind this joke/prank/troll/scam. I tend to think it will be a scam, some "preorder" for a fictitious card ... some fools will be separated from their money.
