Yeah ! Having so much fun to see the improvements with old stuff hehe ..
All my components are more than a year old and the best driver is half a year old ..
well, could have started better for the new 3DMark11, after years of developing on these 4 scenes .. lol ..
My new score P8292
I would like to know why the 10.5a is the only driver for this benchmark, which supports quadfire CFX.
This CAP4 does work fine for 10.5a, but not for 10.11. or other drivers like 10.6
Can we expect an update like a working CAP or a 3DM11 software-update or any workaround, which makes that benchmark work as it should: Judging different hardware configurations ??
i7 920 OC 34%
SST DDR3 1600 OC 24%
GTX 480 stock settings
Increased my CPU OC from 4.002 GHz to 4.263 GHz
Score goes from P6563 to P6691, so a minor increase with CPU frequency.
Need a new PSU before I can attack the GFX OC, but hoping good things if I can get the clock speeds even to 5870 levels.
max26 it does work with single gpu.
Really though the 3x 480's I didn't buy for benching it's for gaming on the 30" monitor at max settings
i was just saying that you need at least 2-3Sli to render it at decent frame rates @ super low reso
yea they made a tough test alright :nerd:
980x @ 4.4 3x GTX 480's @ 905/1810/2200
5906 basic run
Performance: P3540 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/68331
I5 760 4000 + GTX460 768 @ 765/1530/3700
I5 760 4000 + GTX460 768 @ 880/1760/3700
sapphire 5970, watercooled @
1ghz core, memory(1.32)/5.28 effective)
seems like 3 way SLI scales alright in this bench but normal SLI the last physics test is screwed which affects the overall score.

RE: 10.5 vs 10.11
I just wanted to throw this out there..... hmmmm
Is it my imagination or are some of the DX11 features not working properly in 10.5? I could swear that 10.11 lighting effects and DOF looks better than in 10.5?!?!?!?!?!
Took me ages to get 10.11 installed properly again not sure I want to go back and take screenies to check...uke2:
Also on xtreme setting 10.11 is wayyyy more smoother in my rig than 10.5 even though 10.5 is two times faster.
My 4way crossfire also only maxes out to 50% utilisation per GPU core in 10.11 and 90%+ in 10.5.
Edit: ok I take it back just did some screenies between 10.5 and 10.11 and I cant see any difference except that 10.5 is twice as fast as 10.11 and 10.5 lurches and skips frames even though its faster.
10.11 Cap4 on 10.5 drivers smoothes things out a little but 10.11 drivers are even smoother again but with only 50% each GPU being used instead of 100%.
3x5870 at 1050/1200
Interesting no cpu scaling and no tri-crossfire scaling yet it seems
First time retail 980X 3013A489 clocks with single HD5870 at 4.0Ghz vs 4.2Ghz @1025/1263 - 6pts diff LOL
2x HD5870 CFX
@1025/1250 = 9,055 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/89609
@1030/1250 = 9,081 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/89972
Tried 3x HD5870 @1000/1250 at 4.2ghz first
