yep, its very nice. I recon it wouldnt cost me a whole lot to switch either, I have a 930 and a Xeon here as well as my UD7 to sell. Its v.tempting to play around with something new. The PCI-E bandwidth puts me off as i will get a 2nd 580 at some point soon, if it wasnt for that i'd jump.

These chips run cooler than the old i7s but you cant put big volts through them or they die.

yeah but how much to a bencher is too much? lol

I hope to get another as back up i just hope that the chips are as fast as this one or i'll have to keep trying.
this is only the second chip that i killed never even had it sub zero.
the 980x i could understand it was on ln2 or dice 1.55v-1.70v over 100 times.
Then i get a new one,get all pussied out and dont push it

oh well what are you going to do?
ok now lets get back to benching, safely if we must even!

    edit
not the chip its is the mb :wanker:

Got my 990E rolling but it did not like my old ROG II, so I grabbed a Rampage Extreme III. First testing looks good, 4.6GHz @1.38 on water. The new MB allowed me to separate my 580s and leave the fans on auto, and still have room for my 5850 SAS. Nice chip!

My optimal 24/7 settings for my rig. Passes all torture tests with no sweat CPU max 85c and the 580 maxes at 68C.

    I had 29229 with 4.6GHz and the KFA2 Avalanche@ 950/4600 and I forgot to register the score... :(
I wont retry it as I get artifacts in furmark with those settings...

Thanks cowie. This chip looks like its gonna max at 51x multi for benching imo. Not happy to put more voltage than about 1.55v through it on water. Gonna keep an eye out and see if i can get hold of a 52x or 53x capable chip, although im trying to resist the urg of going through loads of chips to find the best one like i did with my 920's!

Anyhow, next thing for me is a 2nd GTX580 which i should have in about 2 weeks - lookin forward to some serious scores! LOL! :D
