Do you guys think that my 3DMark06 score is good enough considering my system's specifications?

    3DMark Score: 12153

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=5281293

    Specifications:

    Intel C2D E8400 @ 3.60Ghz
    Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 BIOS F8C
    Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 2048MB @ 1066Mhz 5-5-5-18 2T
    ASUS EN8800GTS 640MB @ 645Mhz/1498Mhz/935Mhz
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic

    And that's on Windows XP SP2 32-Bit, with nVidia's ForceWare Beta 171.23.

I'd like to get some opinions please.

    Thanks.

its a good score one thing imo which is bottlenecking your system is your graphics card the rest of your hardware is good same mobo as me =) if you were to upgrade to 8800gt or gts 512 you may get maybe 14-16k it all depends whether you want to change your card though

Glenboy wow your rocking on 3dmark06 21k deserves recognition well done :pc1:

"upgrading" to a 8800gt or gts 512 would be a bad choice :p

You sure about that? I built a similar system for my friend last weekend except using an ASUS P5N X38 board and G.Skill PC2-6400, with an eVGA GTS 512. With everything running factory speeds he scored over 13,000.

I tried an 8800GT SC last weekend as well and I have to say that is a bad idea. It locked up during the first round of 3dMark06, 3dMark05, and during the first game I played. It worked when it wanted to pretty much and I returned it right away. When it worked it was great though, so once QC gets a little stricter it's not a bad deal at all.

Have you turned off AA and AF in the driver control panel?

Set every option you can to performance?

    Disabled every IQ option?

Still no OC on the video cards. I should tweak them, and turn all the driver quality settings to Performance and run the test, lol...but I see that as cheating, so as of now I'm just leaving the driver stock.

    20k slowly approaching

It can't be cheating if it's a universal practice for running benchmarks.

Why is it cheating to overclock your gfx but ok to overclock your cpu to 4 gig ?

changing your drivers to performance increases the fps but sacrifices the quality of the picture, theats how older hardwar can still play the new stuff.

i think he ment that he considers turning down the drivers quality to get a higher score as cheating :)

so come on people how do i get a 17k score :) i dont even want a 20k i will be happy with 18 k

    Just made a bench with my q6600 @ 3.6GHz
and my MSI HD3870X2 OC @ stock (850/1800)

Pretty good score at only 3.6GHz but
it's hard to get good CPU score in vista =(

I'll install XP tomorrow and bench @ 3.82GHz and 904/1900MHz
i think i will get 20k+ on the first try w/o any problems.

Wow |Ano| that is one heck of a score, I hadn't realize how impressive these 3870 X2's really were! Now in your sig you say your Q6600 is running at 3.8Ghz, are you able to get through 3DMark06 at that speed or is it not stable enough? If you can than crank that CPU up and run again, I bet you easily break 19K! In anycase great job man and nice score!
