Dude, Windows 10 comes out tomorrow. Microsoft doesn't go into Nvidia servers take the driver and push it on their WU program. Nvidia submitted the driver to MS, then MS pushed it. Nvidia submitted a bad driver. The last few Windows 10 Nvidia drivers have been terrible. Yes it's a problem that Microsoft is forcing it. But it's also a problem that Windows 10 comes out tomorrow and this driver is Nvidia's best effort. These issues are separate. It's possible for both Nvidia and Microsoft to be wrong here and that's definitely the case.

Some were able to get the upgrade by running wuauclt.exe /updatenow in CMD as an admin. You might have to run wuauclt /detectnow if you don't get it.

Also the drivers released by nvidia directly do now work on my PC, finally..

It's was a clean install of build 10166 Pro updated to 10240 (used enterprise before that) So it's kinda like an update but rather fresh.

Installing W10 later - will try this driver assuming there's no newer one around.

    Hoping I don't regret day 1 too much :p

Nvidia has confirmed Fermi lacks WDDM 2.0 drivers currently. That also means that Fermi cards can't be mixed with Kepler and Maxwell right now.

Nvidia confirmed months ago that Fermi does support DX12, it just doesn't have finished drivers at the moment.

Microsoft has already confirmed that all of DX12's feature levels will be able to take advantage of the CPU improvements.

I've had pretty much zero issues from the first Insider Preview to RTM, until this latest set of Nvidia drivers. Weird ass problems in Edge, things going black, hanging briefly etc.

C'mon Nvidia, this isn't a great time to drop the ball. Issues like this will get blamed on Windows 10 which isn't the case at all!
