69 here, are farts lumpy?
Oh, my rog strix comes 2morrow
Got an email yesterday evening from Amazon:
“Your package is on the way but running late. We’re sorry for the delay.
Now expected November 8 - November 9. Track your delivery for the latest updates.”
Made it to a Amazon facility in Davenport FL Nov 6th, then “Package delayed in transit” tracking status. Losing warm and fuzzy feeling about my rog. We will see. :>(
Not so much in 4K let's be fair! Without DLSS anyway....
But I have to say I am absolutely delighted now with the 3090. The new BIOS has completely changed everything, and it's performing great. Just wonder when an EVGA Hybrid kit will appear.
Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. We will issue a refund within 48 hours. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.
Shipped with Amazon

Possible delay in delivery due to arrival at incorrect carrier facility
Titan RTX 3090 !
Just found on Vray5 Benchmark.
Very sorry to hear that.
I would try to call them and ask them to resend the same GPU or a new GPU
because this is not your fault at all. It is their shipping that failed.
At least worth a try.
I think that is a setup with a RTX 3090 and a Titan RTX from previous generation.
Since the score is lower than the two RTX 3090 above it.
Thx Lily, I was on the phone with Amazon Logistics,(via customer support and one other tier), right after I got the 8:58PM tracking updates. Told/asked them exactly that many times. Amazons help/resolution: Sorry, here is your refund, we don’t have any, you have to order it again if it is ever available again at msrp, good luck, goodbye.
I mean, “undeliverable”, give me a break. It was ordered and shipped all in house (Amazon), everyone has a TBA tracking reading shipping label gun. Only thing that adds up, IMHO, is that an Amazon employee wanted that rog more than their moral/legal responsibility to deliver it to the rightful owner/customer.
I’m over it now, kinda. Got me a evga 3090 ftw3 ultra coming in this Monday. Cost me more than the rog (don’t ask) but still a happy camper and no more stress with the f5 key. Damn though having that rog nearly in my hands and then being denied the day of delivery was a hard pill to swallow.
They really said that? Sounds like someone wanted it for themselves for sure.
Good to hear you got a EVGA incomming instead thou. I hope it will arrive on time
so you do not have to wait much more and that it is a good GPU with amazing quality.
Damn, i'm nowhere near the 3000 mark on V-Ray GPU RTX, closer to 2600.
I got tired waiting for the EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra card that I had pre-ordered on launch to finally become available in Europe (and it looks like we'll have a complete lockdown thanks to the 'rona next week, so I wanted to have a video card) and instead went to my local dealer to pick up one of the pile of ASUS RTX 3090 ROG Strix OC cards they had in stock for close to MSRP instead. It's very quiet (with performance BIOS), even quieter than my previous card, the Aorus 2080 Ti Xtreme Waterforce 11G, and that was AIO cooled. Temperatures are really good for an air cooled card, too. I'm really happy with the Strix so far.
By the way, does anybody know if you can remove the shroud of the RTX 30xx ROG Strix cards without taking off the entire cooler (since there's a warranty void if removed sticker)?
I'd like to paint it white with Plasti-Dip (or just paint the silver accents white, not sure yet) to match the case. Alas, any teardowns I've seen, including @Hilbert Hagedoorn's didn't show how to remove the shroud, just the entire cooler, so I'm not sure. If you know how to do it or just have a link to a teardown that shows how to remove the plastic shroud around the fans, please share it with me.
I have a spare 2080Ti that I could use as SLI but I'd have to sacrifice my ZxR Soundblaster and I'd rather sacrifice my family than that.
Got me an EVGA FTW3 ULTRA the other day.
Now I just need to get in the DeskStar this weekend.
And my Optimus block should be here by the end of the month, or beginning of December.
Man it's going to be some good gaming on the Viotek 5120x1440 120hz....
I also just sold it for nearly what I paid for it!
i have 2400 in best case. 1900/20000
i thing this values is too much, but decreasing any clock lowering performance
i supose for this bench is possible high clock, if you want, because PL is very low, 270W and its big headrom for OC even for 2x8 pin (PL is 380W max)
just for info TimeSpy 21k+ for GPU and Superposition 13500+
Was going to get the 3090 STRIX but they are impossible to get 2 mo this on a waiting list, just got told a 3090 trio is waiting for me.
The performance difference is so tiny when you unlock the power compared to the trio so I’m just going to get it - just the reports of the low vrm or whatever compared to even the FE version is the only thing I’m a bit meh about
FT3 3090 Ultra, so far so good, default benchmark runs as expected. Let you all know on oc and 500 watt bios.
Average fps difference might be tiny, but frametime stability difference isn't - due to not having as tight a power limit, the strix has far more stable clocks, even during peak spikes in load, where the trio has to drop performance to remain within power target.
Not to shabby first day stumbling and what did I do?
Classic haha. Haven't used 3DMark in almost 2 years, first day i received the 3090 i started it up.
