I've dealt with shops with way lower trustpilot scores, i wouldn't worry too much they seem legit at least with good rating.

This is the exact reason why you never want to get a cheap version of a top end gpu - better to wait a bit for a good version.

I guess your best bet is 105 % power limit, and everything else stock.

Wow. Strix looks very good. I got my Asus TUF Three Weeks ago. If only Strix is available back then.

Well this sux... my 3090 strix has baaaaad coil whine at above 60 fps - i wanted to go 4k 165 hz with this gpu when the new hdmi 2.1 4k 165 hz displays from asus come, but hot dang is the coil whine bad at 150+ fps... it's annoying even with headphones on !

It's acceptable at 60 fps though, and as my current monitor is only 60 hz, it wont bother me too much for the time being... but i really am thinking whether or not i should RMA it...

Edit : actually it's quite bad even at 60 fps aswell... wont be able to play without headphones on, which i prefer with RPG's... guess i will keep it till after christmas, so i can play valhalla and cyberpunk with it, and then RMA it, cause i reckon it will take a good while to get a replacement...

Do u use integrated sound card? If yes, WHYYYY?
    If no, sorry.
No coil whine with ae-7 here. On headphones that is.
Read somewhere, that guy had bad coil whine, changed Case to Phantex 500a and it stopped...

Considering how hard was to get one and coil whine actually dont hurt (only ears) you should probably keep it. You wont run many games more than 60fps anyway.

I don't know what u aiming at. I have had coil whine since 2015. Using headphones and integrated sound I had this whine under high FPS always. Since using first sb Zx, and then AE-5, now AE-7 I never had it on audio in my headphones. Yes, slight noise outside PC Case. MAJOR whine, very noticeable on my speakers. Just running GPU-z and their render test triggers it always.
My son with 5700XT have same slight coil whine. But he has my old AE-5, so using headphones it does not bother him at all, and he don't have speakers/monitors.
    see this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076J3GD74/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am using it for my speakers. Otherwise using sound speakers is utter crap with coil whine while watching dumb youtube.

Which power supply do you have? A friend of mine had coil whine on the TUF and swapping out the PSU for a Corsair AX1200W (he had a 1000W before) got rid of the coil whine completely. So if you have a spare PSU somewhere or can borrow one from someone it's something you may want to try before you do anything else.

Ohhh that's a shame. My Tuf OC doesn't have a coil whine and I game on 4k 120hz.

Yeah, and they use same caps. I am going to RMA mine, but i am going to wait till after christmas, cause i likely wont get a replacement card for months.

Resonance (which is basically a coil whine) loves patterns (geometric or otherwise) and regularity. Think of mixed caps as a wrench thrown in to disturb and pull out the system from its state of resonance.
Makes perfect sense that mixed caps would be best when it comes to coil whine.

I hate wearing headphones, so not a solution for me. And evidently not all 3090 asus owners experience the coil whine... and it cant get any worse than the coil whine im experiencing, so might aswell try rma.

Just recorded it in bf5 at 100 fps...

    https://voca.ro/18LbynVuBU2i

Not by any means acceptable! I've had gpus before sounding like that... but at like 2000 fps, not 100 !

Yeah... sent an inquiry to asus... i HOPE they will send me a replacement, without me having to send my card first... cause it will suck to be without it for like 2 months.

I tried a post about this but got no help - I'm struggling with my KFA2's noise levels. The fans constantly spin up in windows under most minor load and it's really grating.

How bad are these cards in general for noise, and is there any way to stop the fans spinning for anything other than gaming?

    Cheers.
