I never gonna pay far more than MSRP for any card, if that the case i'll wait till next gen or take 3080 second hand maybe... the 1080TI holds up very strong.
The Strix 3080 I paid for on Sept 19 finally shipped from Memory Express, three months is ridiculous. But should have it by the weekend!! finally!
Same with me, Vega 64 LC is really good GPU. If You play only DX12/VLK or Good DX11MT games then it's enough for now. But we miss RT glory TBF CP2077 Team have time to patch this thing up i can wait....
after waiting 3 months it's finally here - Can't wait for work to be done to install it EDIT: Pretty awesome: Just threw a quick and dirty OC on it and here is the result compared to my best run on my watercooled 2080ti: https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/16414265/spy/14323483
Here’s How to Improve Cyberpunk 2077 Texture Sharpness When Using NVIDIA DLSS -> https://wccftech.com/heres-how-to-improve-cyberpunk-2077-texture-sharpness-when-using-nvidia-dlss/ -> https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/tag/2.3.0.12
I thought those LOD bias options only worked for DX9 & OpenGL??? I might need to try that for Red Dead Redemption 2 as it's a blurry mess when using TAA.
Thanks for that. I'll try it out. BTW, i've been really happy with the 3080. I've been playing Red Dead redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Valhalla, Death Stranding and Control all at 4k. I'm having a blast. I know I initially wanted the 6800XT, but I couldn't be happier.
It works, I tested it yesterday, but don't go further than -2 or you will get shimmering and moire' effects on medium-distant textures, as well as shadows. I personally set it at 1.5, together with the sharpness from nvcp set at 0.6 it made wonders, using dlss quality at 1440p. Btw, last time I tried inspector was about 10 yrs ago, I didn't even know it still existed. Back in those days where all games on pc were awful UE 2-3 portings from console and there was no aa option whatsoever (xcept crysis of course). Sparse grid SS and negative lod bias were our only saviours.
What can i say - It's a great GPU, im still waiting for mine Samsung is now ramping up the production, so it may be Jan/Feb. to be widely avaible.
Did a overclock bench with +100 on core and +700 on memory here is the result: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16606301
is there anybody who tested Quake 2 RTX? i'm having very low core boost with this game , im having 1600+ mhz in core while playing, temps are never above 70° with fans at fixed 65%. My 3080 is the MSI 3080 ventus 3x OC. In other games the speed boost is around 1950 with similar results to reviews. i know that game is very stressful to the gpu but im curious why it cant keep the default 1740 mhz on this card
You are probably framerate limited by the number of rtx cores, meaning the rest of the core is ticking over. Helped a lot by the very simple shading and low amount of textures. Basically most of the card doesnt have much to do. Either that or you use vsync and have hit max framerate. You gave very little info.
I'm playing with every setting at max possible at 1440p, the gpu reach 100% gpu usage 99% of the time, tried without fps limiter (aka vsync or fps cap), so i guess this is more like a power limit to me, maybe bad silicon lotery lol
100% use doesnt mean it is maxed out when the clock speed isnt highest it can be. Also it can run at 100% without maxing out the cuda cores, reducing power/heat. The only thing that Q2 RTX pushes hard are the RTX cores.
ASUS confirms GeForce RTX 3080 Ti The manufacturer becomes the first to confirm that such NVIDIA SKU even exists. The listing reveals that two ROG STRIX graphics cards are in development: ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-O20G-GAMING (with factory-overclocking) and ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-20G-GAMING (likely to feature reference clock speeds). According to ASUS, the RTX 3080 Ti SKU would feature 20GB of memory, which would confirm the previous rumors about the graphics card’s specifications: ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3080 Ti, Source: ASUS The graphics card is expected to feature GA102 GPU with 10496 CUDA cores, the same number as the flagship RTX 3090. It would appear that RTX 3080 Ti will simply offer less memory (20GB vs 24GB) and carry a lower TDP, to better combat Radeon RX 6900 XT series. NVIDIA was initially planning to launch the RTX 3080 Ti in January, although new information seems to confirm that the SKU has been pushed back till after the Chinese New Year in February. It is unclear why the 3080 Ti listing appears on the ASUS website right now. -> https://videocardz.com/newz/asus-co...ce-rtx-3080-ti-graphics-card-with-20gb-memory Note: 20GB will be more future proof, but if i can get regular TUF i will 699€ that is, when prices comes down in coming months. Im still on 1440p so it will be enough ImHO.
Going to be fun to see how this stacks up against both the 3080 variant and the 3090 plus of course outside of ray tracing performance where NVIDIA already has a lead the 6900 too from AMD. Might shake up the pricing a bit depending on where this ends up being positioned although NVIDIA made a bit of a gap already between the 3080 to 3090 though this has the potential to be priced very competitively against the 6900XT too. Suppose it depends on if NVIDIA's going for 1000$ or upwards of 1200$ with this. Thinking the January reveal rumors might also be more accurate then with some GPU vendors already showing not just GPU code names or product codes but full on products here ready for release relatively soon.
Nvidia 1,000$ 3080ti actually means 2,000$ if you can find one. You'd better be off buying a 3090 at this point if you are waiting for the ti.
