Part of the temp difference is due to the TUF running at Performance mode which spins the fans much faster than the Trio. If the TUF runs in Quiet mode, results are more comparable but based on what I read the TUF still wins by being 4-5C cooler.

The cards that Hilbert tested were running at different clocks. The TUF "The out of the box boost clock for this product is a nice 1785 MHz"
While the X Trio was "The out of the box boost clock for this product is a rather high 1815 MHz". Higher clocks higher temps. Really hard to know which card has the best cooling performance due to the differences in their profile / fan speed curve.

That's strange since both the TUF OC and the Gaming X Trio have the same boost clock out of the box : 1815MHz

What’s the overall GeForce RTX 3080 stock situation?

"The GeForce RTX 3080 is in full production. We began shipping GPUs to our partners in August, and have been increasing the supply weekly. Partners are also ramping up capacity to meet the unprecedented demand.
We understand that many gamers are unable to buy a GeForce RTX 3080 right now and we are doing everything we can to catch up quickly.
Keep checking in with your favorite retailer to be notified of availability.
You may use the GeForce RTX 3080 product finder to find available cards at local retailers."

As is said, middle of August -> 1 Fab ;)

Am waiting to see how 3070 does at 4k but some of the cards look like bricks in terms of size? Are there any models usually that come with slimmer coolers/fans. I actually like look of the the original nvidia design as it stands. I saw pics of a zotac dual cooler for a 3070....but I guess will have to wait for reviews.

    Any eta on 3070?

(in theory I could still do a watercooled 3070 but re overclocking potential its kinda pointless now? Also am pretty fed up with pumps dying on me after 2 yrs.

I'm glad that at least some RTX 3080 card in a computer will be used for playing games and not for mining, congratz on getting the card :)

Any ampere owners here playing Escape from tarkov, what settings and resolution are you using, and whats your fps?
I wonder how gpu marked will turn out when AMD release RDNA2, or at least information reardin performance, etc. Cards are priced the same as turing or higher..

Undervolting the 3080 TUF... Shave off 100w with minimal FPS loss.

Trust me, no mining will be performed with this card ever :)

This is interesting, I undervolted my 2080Ti which worked quite well and I was anxious to try it out with this one too.
Framechasers YT channel mentioned the sweet spot being somewhere around 900mV to 950mV but also recommended a shunt mod which I personally don't wanna do. Looks like this video mentioned 800mV which is incredible indeed.

Whatever you buy, make sure you read an in depth review of it. Even better if you can find info on the parts on the PCB and if they cheaped out in its design (like Buildzoids PCB analysis of the Zotac 3080).

Ordered myself the EVGA FTW Ultra, kinda wanted the 3090 or slightly more ram but I can’t justify spending any more on a video card. Quite excited as my current machine is a 3600x (Moving to a 4900/4950 at launch) with 64gig of 3600mhz ram and a wonderful GTX1060. The 1060 is literally slower than the Vega56 I owned before that. Fingers crossed a water block launches for the model I ordered.

    edit. Price is AUD
