Post em if you got em. I feel like a lottery winner, as I didn't even think I would be able to get a 3080 let alone a Strix at launch... Should get it delivered tomorrow.
Undervolting Ampere, GeForce RTX 3080 Hidden Efficiency Potential? -> https://wccftech.com/undervolting-ampere-geforce-rtx-3080-hidden-efficiency-potential/
Yah seems these cards are kinda pushed to the limits already from the factory.. I'm guessing to really push them higher 2100Mhz+ the power draw would get out of hand very fast.
Lassoed me a Gigabyte Eagle OC before the first batch all ran out today! Should get it delivered by Tuesday next!
I would get asus TUF, those temps are sick, GE version is too hot. Shame really, design looked great.
I like his videos, but in this case, I don't think his shunt mod is actually working as intended, because the perf. cap reason for the GPU was still PWR even with reported 80% TDP. I believe he only increased power limit for the whole card, but not the GPU power limit. The GPU has its own power draw check and limit, so this kind of shunt modding is pretty much pointless.
Did no one here get one at launch? Except for the boss? xD Eagerly awaiting to pick one up on the 27th of september.
I'm still waiting on delivery, according to Asus they will ship from the 24-1st at the earliest (Strix). Best buy will be having the manufacturer ship direct to me. Apparently even the base Strix is the OC version. There is an Asus group on facebook and the marketing rep had a stream, some interesting info on the construction too -- Strix uses a diecast backplate vs aluminum on the tuf, they have stainless steel bracket, and a liquid cooler-style mirror finish using a special contact technology on the heatsink block which they claimed their competitors don't do.
i might skip that one because its 10c hotter as the tuf and it got a plastic backplate, with a litle bit of graphite under it. I think msi dropped the ball on this one on design. Also i dont get the 3x 8 pin conector on them, while the power limit is very limited makes no sense for me. I hang out on this one wait for 3090 or 3080 20 gb i think.
If anyone who bought this card is going to disassemble their cooler I'd like to know the spacing between the screw holes surrounding the gpu.
