Yea I would say go with them then. But don't get three because I really don't believe it is worth it for the third one. From what I see you would never get 3x scaling out of them and all the benches I seen you might get 10 extra fps. But that is my opinion. Grab two for SLI and you will be happy non the less.
man (foes) you have 3x260!!!! how are they
i have a 22'' 1680x1050
Will it be a good upgrade from my gtx280 and did you compared them with a gtx 295 and is the 850w ok??
didn't guru do a psu power comparison on here? I am pretty sure you can check that out to see if it would run them.
ive seen the tests its deferend asking some one that's has one home one time i used one enermax 500w and run 2x8800gtx and if i remember the reviews where telling another story xixixi
I can see that point.
I have done ALOT of testing using 7 different games with my 3x260's on both my previous C2D and current i7 920 with the res of 1920x1200. My results show with a C2D at 3.6Ghz a 50% fps gain between a single 260 and 2-way Sli, and no fps gain between 2-way Sli and 3-way Sli. With my current i7 920 at stock 2.6Ghz I show a slight gain with 3-way over 2-way. Only with my i7 920 at 3.6Ghz do I start to see major fps gain with the 3rd 260. So my advice to you, considering since you have the budget for 3x260's, would be to go the 2-way Sli with the GTX275's.
although geo you would be technically going backwards in chip density and a lower grade memory controller.
so if you don't at least get 1.7g 275's , i would start stacking 285's. or another option is to just grab a good single card you know you only need for a few months or so.. and build cash up for a pair of geforce300 series.
275 SLI is the best option. Tri-Sli is not completely utilized, so you won't see more improvement adding the 3rd card. 260SLI or 275SLI.
The 300 series really rock. If you can hang on, wait till then..
so what about a cpu as i see you need a good cpu for sli
will a amd x2 550 bk to the jop?
or i will need the x4 955?
AMD X2 550 performs as much as an E8400. Its not enough. Go with X4955.
but with 2 x 275?
the price on the 2 of them is really close to the 295 you thing is better?
i was thinking for 2x260+ 216 for there money they rock
new idea what about a
ASUS nForce 780a SLI Crosshair II Formula ( for future upgrade to 2 gtx)
Amd x2 550 be ( for future upgrade to x4 550)
EVGA CO-OP gtx 295
not too expensive not to cheap and power
or you think i will need the x4 955 for the gtx from now...
or more expensive
ASUS P5N72-T PREMIUM nvidia nforce 780a
INTEL Core 2 Quad Q9550
EVGA CO-OP gtx 295
550 will bottlenek heavily SLI setup like those. Better you buy 955 or save money.
tell you the throw i have the money but i all ways like to buy smart not to spent money with no reason because i change my setups very often and very expensive staff do not sell very easy
So its x4 955
you think 780i or 980i
I was running my 3rd GTX 260 and noticed HUGE fps gain in Crysis... the only game that will take advantage of it really. My avg fps on enthusiast with two is 38-42avg (No AA/AF). With the 3rd it jumped up to about 50-56avg (No AA/AF). Vantage score with 658/1418/1027 core went from 21k to 28k. Was it worth it, yes for the price. Hell no for the temps I got, even an the Antec 1200 case. Unless you're in subzer temps, don't bother. Also, you would need a beefy PSU with 6x PCIe cables like the HX1000 or better.
2x GTX 260's score: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1156856
3x GTX 260's score: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1197390
I'm not really big into OC'ing but I do it. That 28k was achieved with the 3rd GTX260 in a 4x slot... :/
Obviously 980a. It completes the rig..
when i was running the crysis benchmark with my 280 xxx WC i was at 35-45 avg (1680x1050 no aa/af but all full and vs
So i will stay on the gtx295 for now and 980 as jmpnop is saying
980 because it got DDR3 and 780 is quite old now. Though DDR3 has no much performance increase in gaming, I would like to have the latest hardware. Well anyways, good choice of hardware.
thanxs man and the price is on the spot 170$ for the 980
but the ASUS M4N82 DELUXE has ddr2 1200
