    I'll stick with the corsair since I put it through already.


    So I've got pretty much a whole other computer that I don't know what to do with since I've upgraded.. whats a good idea to use it for? It probably WONT sell for anything considering the prices you could buy a new one for.

    media server maybe? low power PC to stream video to all other PCs and media players

    it will work fine if the 630 watt psu is half way decent...the cards dont really draw much power at all. even a high end system with 6870 in xfire probably wont draw more then 450 watts.

    sigh, read my first post.

    his power supply may have a rating of 630w peak, but he's only got enough amps on the 12V rail for a full load of 408w.

    cpu = 125w (unless he got the 95w hexacore), add in 300w for the crossfire setup, add in 50-100w or so for fans, hdds, optical drives, etc, and he's blowing way over.

    its silly to risk hundreds of dollars of computer equipment because you wanted to run a cheapo power supply.
