i have the original asus crosshair am2 590sli running 2x 1gb memory on win 7,will i notice any difference in gaming if i upgrade to 2x 2gb memory?
    and should i use 2x 2gb instead of adding another 2x 1gb?
would it be better to get memory that has a higher speed for overclocking?
    any recommendations?

will win 7 32bit support 4gb of memory?
a good thing would be to run win 7 64bit if im using 2x 2gb and a 1gb video card correct?

2x2 is the minimum these days for games like crysis, gta and bf.

Open task manager while gaming and look at memory usage, if it's more than the amount of ram installed then yes it will def help.

32bit Windows can access up to 4GB of ram.

Just remember that is the total amount of ram windows can address, so that include the memory on your graphics card as well.

With 4gb of system memory, I’d recommend installing 64 bit Windows… and for Windows 7 + gaming, I’d suggest 4gb of system memory.

With that said, I’d only consider doing this if I was planning to use that machine for at least the next year or so, if not, the money would be better spent going towards an up-dated rig.

Do as Pill suggested and check your memory usage while in game.

Funny, I just recently re-built one of my old systems which only required purchasing RAM to get it back up and running.

    Picked up:

Corsair XMS2 DHX TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX 4GB DDR2 2X2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-18 for $50.00 from NCIX. $50 at the time was a good deal but I have seen it as high as $80 for the same package, way too much for what it is worth compared to DDR3.

    The system:

    ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (nF570-sli)
    AMD 6400+ x2
    ASUS AMD 4850 512mb
    PCP&C 670w Silencer
    Win 7 Pro 64

Actually quite amazing how this “old” system can still hold its own in recent DX9 titles.
