It's odd, scaling was working with 266.58, for me at least.
I also want to thank the person who posted drivers on Megaupload.
I just tested these drivers with Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer.
My initial impression and ongoing impression is that these 266.77 drivers are much smoother than the 266.87's I was using previously. I did some benchmarks using Fraps and I'm getting exact same performance with these 266.77's as I did with the 266.58's and the 266.87's. I did all my benchmark tests in my Nuketown server where I was only person in the game running the same course.
These new drivers are probably nicer to use in Black Ops multiplayer just because of the smoothness factor. This extra smoothness seemed to help me get some additional kills.
I think the 266.87's were a nice progression up from the 266.90 Quadro's and these new 266.77's are a nice progression up from the 266.58 GeForce drivers.
These 266.77's have the same IQ as the 266.58's as far as I could tell.
These 266.77's have a date of 2/11/11 on it's setup.exe and the 266.87's have a date of 2/8/11 on it's setup.exe so I think the 266.77's must be 3 days newer than the 266.87's.
I could not find any release notes for these new 266.77 drivers.
I guess they're keepers for now cuz I love that extra smoothness in Black Ops multiplayer.
knew it wouldnt be long before you got on these!
The announcement about these 266.77 drivers was posted by the EVGA Product Manager and here is what he said:
Official WHQL Release Driver
•Installs HD Audio driver version 18.104.22.168.
•Installs PhysX System Software version 9.10.0514
•Includes support for GeForce GTX 560 Ti
That's the closest thing to release notes I could find.
Edit: After comparing with other driver's release notes on the EVGA site I think the only thing new in this driver above the 266.58's is this new driver adds support for the GTX 560 Ti.
Some news from VR-Zone;
Though it doesn't comply with TheHunter's findings.
I've just checked the Nv_disp.inf file and I cannot see any reference to either the 550 Ti or GTX 590.
doesnt comply, should it?
i only copy pasted all the available strings in this x64 evga 266.77 INFc1:
maybe they used another driver branch idk..
Vr zone said these drivers have support for gtx 590?
Am i right? if i am then my pants are happy
These drivers ROCK with 3D vision ...
Best set of drivers for my GTX 580 to date ;0)
Happy Happy ... ;0)
480 SLi scaling on my rig is improved as well, so I guess the drivers improve SLi scaling in general
Weird... noticed they removed it from EVGA site (Support/Download Drivers).
Forum thread was removed as well.
I had some strange connection issues while using it in a game. Like disconnected from server. And once when I was using 16x AA my graphics got all botched and I was looking at a big checkerboard pattern for awhile, then stuck shooting at the sky awhile, etc.....weird. I notice the drivers have some new updater thing in them but I could not determine what they were updating or when they're scheduled to update.
I downloaded the zipped 64-bit drivers from both EVGA's ftp server (link now broken) and the Megaupload link (thanks Haazhel) and they have the same checksum(s), so just get the driver from Megaupload (181.38 MB).
hey guys could you uplaud this drivers in megauplaud but the 32 bit winndows seven version thancks in advance becouse i was uploadind but the evga cancel and now if some of you posted like i asked id be apriciated
Any discussion of the driver now missing is being deleted too...very odd.
These are great drivers for me, I wonder why they removed them from the evga site.
Well exciting might be a bit dramatic. But I have to admit it is strange. The EVGA Product manager started a thread announcing the driver then that thread and the following discussion was deleted and now any thread merely asking about the driver is deleted. I've never seen that before. (cue dramatic music....)
At least they left this thread open http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=858674
