see if you have slowdowns in chapter 7 8 9 10...?
even when i have the nvidia 259.47 , windows update still says there is update version 480GTX published 24/8/2010 Nvidia Display software update released in July, 2010.
First driver that correctly switch both GPU to 2D clocks after exiting any game or anything that switches clock to 3D.
Good find but with 260's on the horizon... think i'll pass
I can 2nd this.
to add to my previous post,
X3TC is still missing background music, its like it can't render mp3 all the sudden.. i reinstalled it again and even installed a few codecs just to be sure and its still the same, odd., but it doesnt matter its a bench only..
but the good thing is that they're really smooth in COD4 and COD5 waw, dunno mouse movements where ultra smooth, like on butter and i used 2 frames to render ahead and threaded optimization enabled for both profiles.
I've got a low framerate in mafia 2 with these drivers than with 258.96.
It seems GTX 460 users will just have to wait for this next beta driver for any improvements.
I can confirm that these drivers work. Installed OK, no issues so far.
I'm not playing the latest game, though, so it probably will make no difference for me. Lately I've been strategy gaming with Medieval II Total War (KGCM mod).
Another good thing about them is that I stopped having these 10sec pauses in Singularity game (i had split sec fps jumps 121 to 117fps and back every 10 sec), im not sure was it the driver or win updates or all together, but finally its fixed and i can play it normally
edit: lol it was nod32 firewall that made those 10 sec pauses.. :stewpid:c1::bang::nerd:
Well I can confirm this driver severely mess with Star Tales Benchmark
to be exact it only show some triangle just like when you move the camera so near
that it enter inside the body of the dancers.
dunno Star tails 0.33 works fine here,
even that nurien 0.7 alpha..
make sure you uninstalled old physx and reinstall it (also check in program files(x86 - if you're in 64bit) and delete nvidia folder with -04952 or something like that at the end of the name)..
well I don't have problem with Nurien or other demo but Star tales seems to have problem at least for me.
Maybe it has problem with 4xx series cards
So far tested these I like them better than the 259.32, Mafia 2 runs pretty decent.
I have a feeling we wont see 260.xx drivers til monday now...
Yeh me too :bang:
Wait guys, its still night time in US...
Lazy sods , no sleep for them :bonk:
Though if you prefer the lowest latencies possible (instead of the GPU eye candy or low memory consumption if 100 of windows are open) i guess their is no way around disabling GPU Compositing on Vista/Win7 entirely
But it's nice to see Nvidias Driver Team reacting to this issue fast i wonder what that new process is really doing actually a simple C-state latency change wouldn't have needed a entire new process i guess
