Am I the only one getting this error right before the installation process?

    Wow, these drivers are great!

I gained about 4 FPS in Crysis (2560x1600 with extreme quality mod), and the framerate is much smoother with no dips..

Also tested Metro 2033 and my average framerate was 4 FPS higher than with the 258.96.

Just downloaded and installed it from that Nv link, worked fine. Have to run some games now.

I'll wait for results with gtx 480 and BFBC2 before I go through the trouble, since it's the only game I play right now and the 258s are running pretty good for me at the moment.

    @PurSpyk!!

close nvcpl and delete all files located in>> C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs

    nvdrsdb0.bin
    nvdrsdb1.bin
    nvdrssel.bin
    nvdrswr.lk

now open nvcpl and see if it works, all the profiles should be visible again, but
if that doesnt work (it keeps reverting to default) then try and change security permissions for nvidia folder.

    C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA

    do the same with

    NvStarted (inside the folder)

    >>right-click on the folder/icon > properties > security tab > advanced > permissions tab - change permissions > add > advanced > click on object types tab and click on users (it will add users to main search tab) > now click find now > and below add your name or administrators > now hit ok , ok, ok ,ok.

I had to do both.. It was fine at first with any 257/258/259, but when i tired some leaked windows update 258.41? driver it started happening.. now its back to normal and i've reinstalled few drivers since then.

Happens to me every single driver build.

Deleting NvStarted, or changing the ****ED UP permissions seems to work for me..

I also use Nv Inspector..(it's great btw, you can change driver flags and stuff. Check it out..)

Happened to me once. And that was the first time i installed the 259.31 over the 259.12 quadros. Now with the 259.32 i deinstalled my old drivers first and it works.

So for the gaming, what can i say. These drivers are great. Nvidia seems to go in the right direction looking from a GTX 460 point of view. Playing Bad company 2 now divides the tasks between my CPU cores just even. The same usage on each core, before i had like 80% on the first 2 cores and 50% on the other ones. Now its more like ~70% on each core but still not going over 80%. Thats why i only said "right direction". That said the GPU usage also seems to be higher like 10% more to a maximum of 70% but still not what i would expect.

Framerate increased too but the 'microstutter' is stille there. Its still not as smooth as it used to be with my 8800GT but way better as with previous drivers. I would say they run even with the quadros in terms of 'smoothness' but with higher framerates.

What i also noticed was lowering the resolution lowered both, the cpu(60%) and gpu(20%, no kidding) usage staying on the same framerate. If i start recording with fraps cpu usage boosts up to 95% but gpu usage still doesnt move, framerate stays the same too. So why is fraps able to pump up my cpu usage providing the same framerate while recording and the game itself isnt?

Did Nvidia release them somewhere on their website as beta without 3D vision thing?

I don't like to DL from another site and mess with inf.

I guess I need to try these out. I was happy with the 259.12s but I guess I'll give these a go since you say these are a move in the right direction.

If you ppl bench Mafia 2 Demo, please do with the Bench there. Ingame i've constant 60fps, apex disabled, but in bench there are other results ;)

Testing now with games and apps i always test with, posting bench results later..

A poll would be nice ;)

just unzip it and go to drivers folder, choose either 32 or 64 and rename visionblabla.exe and hit setup. thats what i did
(edit: ofc theres no 3dvision in that folder, i dont need hdaudio so that was that)

so far these been smoothest from 200 drivers for me; .31 had huge slow downs on marrowgar and other places with lots of spell effects
