hi mate, hover the mouse over the setting in the NVCP and it will show the 'tooltip' style header for wherever the mouse is hovered

[ignore the selected item in the list, the mouse is hovered over the AA gamma setting, and the tooltip reflects that by showing the AA gamma tooltip message]

Well back to the 175.80's. Even with my new gts 250 card, these drivers, and the 197 series drivers sucks. Seems like the 175.80's are the best.
I got 2 bsod with the 256 drivers, and my monitor keeps shutting off.

Description must be wrong, this is with COD4 (fire escape is the difference)

Maybe it's less noticeable for people with better cards or settings (I run 1440x900 4xAA with multisample transparency only) but it is definitely there.

    It's placebo, OGL only.

I never uninstall physx I only uninstall the display drivers and clean with driversweeper in safe. So my physx just gets updated when there are new versions either with drivers or manual. To answer your question yes physx is installed and working properly 09.10.0222 is the version installed.

LOL... could you at least compare the pics first before you decide it's placebo/OGL only?

It's not the only game I've seen the difference it was just the first I thought of, could have taken a better example I guess.

    @ exaslave

call of duty is openGL, i know 1, 2 where; 4, 5 and mw2 probably the same.. that's why you see the diff..

    COD4 is DX9

I know COD1 was OGL, I do not remember COD2 but probably OGL too.
Again I guess I should have taken a better example lemme see if I can...

    257.29 locked computer

I have installed the 257.29 beta w/modded .inf and have experienced higher heat on some games, and on one( STALKER:CS) also had the computer lock on me once, where it had no problems with 257.15 Back to the257.15 driver, and I'll wait for the next driver.

Check your pics, CoD4 is an DX9 game, there are no difference, apart from the normal "not exactly the same pic"

The screanies look the same to me.

It is an OpenGL feature, get over it.

According to the tweakguides site it says it depends on the monitor to see an impact, I do not know for sure but maybe you guys just can't or I have too low of a resolution.

Maybe minimal but there is a difference, point over the 'E' on "LIFE 2":

Assassin's Creed II and BF BC2 felt choppier with these. I went back to 275.15 and everything is fine again.

Dude, in the description in the Nvidia drivers, if you hover your mouse over gamma correction, it says

"Antialiasing - Gamma Correction enables gamma correction for antialiasing. This setting only affects OpenGL programs."

That HL2 moving background has an active sun, all that needed to happen was
the sun change only slightly between the shots, you are not perfect and being
only a fraction of a second off produces those small differences.

And I am not saying the article you read was wrong, but if it was indeed about
the Gamma Correction setting in the NVCP then it would only make sense that
they were talking about an OpenGL game. Other wise if they used HL2 as an
example they were probably using the in-game color-correction option in HL2.

Yes I know what it says that is why I said it could be just wrong because I have seen it actually affecting me in DX games

Here is a different article then (old one I admit) which has the same results I just showed with my own pictures with the 257.29 drivers but if you guys are convinced it does not work then there is not much I can do to convince otherwise

One of those screenshots was taken on Vista 64 and the other on Win7 64, how is that really comparable?
