You are still with us, glad to have you.
I can't image what you went through, so I not gonna pretend I understand how you feel.

I hope you will be better and find someone who can share your burden and be there for you.

I hear you. I don't think it ever does either. All I hope for is that I can have more "decent/meh" days than "bad" days at the end of the week/month, and I can say that's good enough for me. But yeah, it will probably get worse before it gets better, especially considering the ongoing global crisis.

This is how white folks see the BLM movement. Because most white folks never walked a mile in the shoes of a black person who gets looked at differently just walking on the street or into a store just because they are black. A white person is unqualified to characterize how they experience daily life in America. What you just did was claim the entire BLM movement is just as racist as the KKK. That of course is absurd. You're actually arguing every single racist RW trope to attack a movement trying to end racism in America. "When a black officer kills a white person, everyone stays silent. When a black officer kills a black person, everyone stays silent. When a white officer kills a black person, regardless of the circumstances leading up to it, BLM shows up and demands blood.... It's entirely about race" Thanks for the White House White Nationalist Fox News version. According to you, Blacks are the problem and need to fix their own issues that you apparently believe THEY CAUSE to themselves. You apparently believe that separate water fountains in my lifetime, have no impact on blacks of today that racism is just a myth. Wow...no really, wow.

A lot has changed actually. But unfortunately there a lot of people out there who do not and will not recognize the progress that's been made.

Way to mischaracterize everything I said.... Maybe try a little reading comprehension next time. While you're at it, remove that chip from your shoulder.

Simple fact. If you want to change how the world views you, you have to change how you present yourself. If you look like a thug and act like a thug, the world will view you as a thug.

The "Black Lives Matter" movement has not once addressed the growing problem of violence within their own "community"... Blacks still kill other blacks at a considerably higher rate than any other ethnicity, or any other 2 ethnicities combined. BLM has stayed completely silent about it. Not once have they appealed to others of their own ethnicity to stop the violence. Not once have they spoken out publicly about the rising number of black gangs and gang members. The only time BLM appears, is when a white officer kills a black man or woman.

My boss, who is on the city council for the neighboring city, has asked BLM numerous times for help to curb black on black violence in his city. In every instance, they have flat out refused. He has asked them what type of services the city can establish that would help, and they just say that the city council doesn't understand the "black community"....

Blacks cause the vast majority of black deaths. Only black people can fix that problem. We already have laws banning murder. Those laws don't seem to stop them. Defunding police departments isn't going to fix the problem either. At some point, black people are going to have to address the problem of violence in their own "community". Nobody else can do it for them.

One of my friends at work, who coaches football, lost 3 of his former players to a drive-by shooting a few months ago. BLM was nowhere to be found. Nobody in their neighborhood will speak up. No justice for them. They were 3 innocent black kids, trying to make something of themselves. Now, they're dead and apparently nobody cares. If BLM actually cared about black lives, they would be out trying to get justice for those 3 kids and every other black person that has been killed by anyone. Instead, they stay silent. Because a white cop wasn't involved. If you can't see where they're a racist group, that's your problem. The group even says that they want to end the killing of black people by white cops.... They can't really spell it out any clearer that their position in and of itself is racist....

Fact is, there is no end to racism. It's existed for as long as each ethnicity has known about the others. There will always be racist people as long as the human race continues to exist. The only way to end racism, is to end the human race. Contrary to popular belief, white people aren't the only racist people. There are racist black people, racist asian people, racist hispanic people.... It's hard enough to convince people that Jesus couldn't have possibly been white, even though history proves that point, so how do you think you'll convince people to stop being racist? Racism exists, because racism existed. Racist people will raise racist people. The only way to stop the cycle is to eliminate racist people before they can raise more racist people. Unless you support genocide, that's not going to happen.

Cops should be held accountable for every life they take. The current Congress is going to make sure that never happens though. Police reform needs to happen, but the current Congress isn't going to make the type of reform that's actually needed, happen. The current President isn't going to do it either. The current Congress overwhelming believes that cops have the right to take someone's life without consequence. Qualified immunity should have never existed, but the current Congress isn't going to end it.

I'm not here to pander to anyone, least of all you. I really don't care what you think of me. I don't care about your opinion because it's generally idiotic anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in thinking you spend way too much time trying to convince everyone that you're an expert on every topic. Grow up and learn how to comprehend what you read and stop trying to make things political when they aren't. Most of the problems in this country come from people being either too ignorant or too stupid to have a rational, logical conversation. Everyone is too caught up in their own political, religious, racial or technological ideologies.

No ethnicity, religion or political ideology is superior nor inferior to any other.

Now, if YOU or anyone else has a problem with my post, USE THE IGNORE FEATURE LIKE AN ADULT instead of making another stupid, half wit comment....

Unfortunately, some progress in this country is 1 step forward, 3 steps back....

  10. Duude that alonetogether ad was for real!!?? that is insane

Eh I tend to agree that overall "relatively speaking" yeah nothing has changed. 1960s America allowed & fostered a culture of police brutality as did 2020 America from the White House on down. "When the looting starts the shooting starts". It's all just dog whistles, excuses. Racism by another name. Blablablabla .... bla

I just love how people get so easily twerked by "black lives matter". Ouuu "but it's all lives matter" you can't say black lives matter... that's "offensive". Hahaha yes feign ignorance let's get down to the heart of it, you can be smart as crap in so many aspects of life but feign ignorance when it comes to sociology and topics of race. Of course... surprise surprise.. @sykozis goin all triggered

Sheesh. A black man voting for a party that doesn't want black people voting.
No, BLM is not racist, it's not an exclusion, it's a focus on a problem. Why do some say defund the police? Because it's not just about whites killing blacks but also black cops treating minorities worse.
A person in USA is 100x more likely to be killed by the police in USA compared to the UK. If you're black the chances are higher than for a white person.
It's a country with a major gun problems, mostly used in suicides but it also cannot keep control of those who are supposedly trained in its execution (no pun intended)

Pointless to put in videos in which some have lost their minds, it still doesn't represent the entire movement. I could copy and paste 50 links into this on for instance how BLM protestors want to stop some from looting and rioting. My viewpoint is much more broad, as I read factcheck websites which go through some of the ridiculous claims that are being made.
The public does not have to fear BLM or Antifa at all. They are not the boot on the face of the regular folks.

Yes blame it on a news story that from a source you're not familiar with. On the flip side, what about the 1 yr old boy shot in his baby carriage during a barbecue in NYC? What did BLM hope to accomplish with this?

As said, individual examples can be found, it's not the way to represent a movement. I can for instance find some libertarian leaning Republicans and say that this represent the whole party, but it would instantly be wrong. You wouldn't get away with that in college and shouldn't get away with it in public forum posts either.
If black on black problems brought are brought up, I never see a rightwinger ask, "well, why are they armed in the first place?". Because they don't believe that guns are a problem, but they certainly contribute to it just like a malfunctioning welfare state which mostly serves the already rich.
How many millions have lost jobs, how many have lost health insurance? Covid cases are going up and lots of people are hurrying to open up the country in order to win elections, when it's clear that their negligence is what creates a lot of these problems in the first place. The only thing America does when race relations problems arise is to press the mute button. Lots of people killed? We can't talk about guns now (either).
Why is the police militarized in USA? Why is that in one shoot-out the police can fire more shots than the entire German police force do during the entire year?

I can post links endlessly, it will swell up emotions and this topic will be closed just like war topics.
NY is for one thing, not the worst when it comes to per capita violence. That would be the south.

I'm not blaming on the news (I know they work for profit and sometimes invent things out of thin air because it makes them money). If they cause problems is that they put a lot of coverage into covering who the shooter was, which does tend to lead to copycats.

You can flood with this thread with all the socialist propaganda you want, isn't that what fascism and bigotry does best? Shutting down other's opinions and beliefs?

Fascism is 100% rightwing, socialism isn't. This is why getting an education helps. And I do not have the power to stop people from posting here, I'm not a moderator and do not wish to be.

I don't buy for a second that some of you care to stop the shootings, because if you did then you would have wanted comprehensive gun reform ages ago.
If I post a link on how for instance Japan has about 2-3 killings per year due to guns, is that socialist propaganda? Japan is not socialist.
    Your thinking is low grade.
