I have a budget of upto £200 and would like some suggestions. The main use will be gaming and music. I have a short list of these: - Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks III - Corsair SP2500 - Acoustic Energy AEGO M 2.1 I have also considered a sound bar like the Razer Leviathan. Any suggestions would be welcomed on the above or for any other setups.
Sound bars are terrible. I read about serious hardware faults with the Corsair speakers, stuff that shouldn't be an issue with the kind of price tag they have. 2.1 is kind of no-man's-land these days. The best thing you could do would be to stretch the budget, get a receiver and a pair of decent bookshelf speakers. Or you could find somebody with Logitech z2300 and murder them for it...
I don't really want book shelf speakers nor do I have space for a receiver even though I have an unused pioneer receiver. I really just want a good new 2.1 speaker package for around £200. I have a dedicated av setup so this is really for gaming and the odd bit of music. The reason for upgrading is that my current Harmon Kardon HK695s are making a hum which I believe is down to a faulty transformer, otherwise I am really happy with the sound they make. I guess I am not too demanding in my sound needs hence only a £200 budget and something I could get for xmas. How do you rate them?
Well first of all i thank windows 10 is a waste of space i tried win 10 pro & win 10 enterprise. Anyway with my sound card & my speakers witch by the way are a very good match. How do i rate them easy hook up funktional very straight forward sound quality out of 5 stars i give it a big old 5. Just ask TyrantofJustice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVSuYaeFW70 http://www.corsair.com/en/gaming-audio-series-sp2500-high-power-2-1-pc-speaker-system
Then you might try to demo Klipsch Promedias or Logitech z623. I would never recommend the Corsairs because of widespread reports of blown PSUs and a really bad response to it from Corsair.
Afaik soundbars are better than default speakers on TV, but not good enough for music. No idea about the 2.1 setups.
