Purpose of this build is 3D modelling and gaming. I am unsure on the RAM and MOBO. Some people have stated the 5950x is throttled so much by 3200mhz ram I shouldn't buy it. The others have said they're just being anal and the difference will be indiscernible. My budget for the RAM is pretty much open, I'd say about 1,000, the MOBO is about 500, but would prefer a bit lower around the 300$ range. I want to stick with a white/silver/black theme, but if I can get something that's much better I'll easily sacrifice looks for it.

Thanks for being my inside experts, this is the 3rd build you guys have advised me on and I very much appreciate all of your time.

    MOBO (open to suggestions)

I wanted the x570 ROG Strix e, but they're out of stock everywhere.

Kraken X53 (should I go with a bigger CPU cooler?)

While it IS a partial gaming PC, it's main funcion is as a workstation. Do you think going with half the ram would be worth it for 400 mhz faster per stick? Thanks for the help!

Wait, it was a mere example.
My idea was to get E-Die with those Crucial Ballistix sticks.
Of course, more RAM the better.
    Sorry for the confusion.

I totally missed that, probably because I have no idea what E-die is. Reading about it now.

anddddd I am even more confused. Lol.
The hardest part of this process, by a humongous margin is finding the right RAM and Monitor. I am hitting a point of going "fuc* it" due to every question leads to another question. And each question that's answered is a deeper dive into the tech that I don't understand. What the heck happened to just finding compatible ram that works as intended? E-die, correct speed, correct amount of ram, timings, which bin did you get it from, oh wait with that MOBO, now it won't work, with that processor? Oh crap, it works but might as well not buy that processor..... Gah!

    Let's simplify.
Samsung's BDie = " I don't care about price, let's OC the hell outta these RAM sticks"
    Micron/Crucial E-Die=" I am budget conscious, and I want a decent OC"
Hynix =" You can want , but you can't OC .

What if I have no intention of overclocking my memory?

For the price, get Crucial. It's same as other brands with Hynik die

Thanks, I appreciate you and your willingness to answer my questions. Another question though, do you have any recommendations for 128gb or ram? Much appreciated!

Well, until now I didn't built anything bigger than 64 GB RAM, but 128 GB is just finding the QVL sticks for the motherboard.
Just keep in mind that those QVL lists are not the Bible, usually are a bit out of date.
Just buy from some serious etailer willing to accept returns and you're set.
However, thinking forward (sorry for the thought) Threadripper platform is more geared to workstations.
Quad channel is quite an advantage.

Will try later to find some RAM motherboard combos...but don't take this as a promise, I am juggling now some tasks and some personal promises I made earlier.

    Hi there

I have tried on my Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero with 3900X two 128GB kits, one is G.SKILL TridentZ Neo 3600MHz and Patriot Viper 3200MHz(two different sets), they're sold just as 2*32GB 3200MHz and no issues running them at DCOP or XMP settings

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

As much as I hate to admit, reaching the RAM limits of the X570 platform (an not only that), one will struggle to achieve XMP speeds.
Granted, above 64 GB, the solution could be more easily solve with TR platform.
