Trial by fire is the best way to get into these games if you're new. It's too daunting to try to learn every little detail and mechanic(although this game isn't too complex compared to others) for a newb. Just dive in and try to get some fun and enjoyment out of it.
lol thanks for the tip, Im getting it slowly but Im playing this as casual as possible so xbawks pad is in use, this may be hindering me somewhat.. I may try a new playthrough tonight, be a pain going through all this again though without completing it first.
no prob.. Does anybody know if you can still buy the Witcher edition that comes with the goodies? Wasn't there two versions with goodies a cheaper one and then an expensive one?
I think you can still buy the premium edition from retailers, the other one was the collector's edition, wich will be hard to find except from resellers.
Just started the witcher2 (didn't play the witcher1) , enjoying the game but have changed to my xbox controller as it really suits the game , is it just me though or do the fist fighting sequence really suck balls... every time i die i seem to have to go through the conversation sequence before the fist fight over again..
press 'y' on the pad to skip scenes or even better just save after lenghy conversations so when you load your past that bit, I agree btw the pad really works well in this game, still stuck trying to kill letho tho, hes unrelenting! constantly on the attack with no pause, crazy fight this.
1.35 Hotfix, but only for steam version. I'm waiting for retail http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/22731-steam-update-08102011/
ok just played a bit in 3d and bad news guys the shadows look awfull as ever, in outdoor scenes its hideous!, Shadows off it looks amazing though I must add
Yeah, even I just got the game! I had exams for 2 months than those B*stards at customs held up the game for a month !!! Anyway the fist fighting sequences are quite "tedious". Other than that there are still some bugs here and there but the game is excellent.....best RPG since Dragon Age: Origins in my opinion. Hope people make tonnes of mods for it .
Try FXAA by some dude http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=40442&d=1312999376 It helps somewhat with that awful dithering.
Oddly, that patch did not auto install for me upon running the launcher (GOG version) and I had to download and install the v1.30 to v1.35 patcher manually. All is well now though.
Same "problem" here with it not auto-updating, perhaps that was a separate server? (Unsure how it works, it seems each patch is stand-alone though instead of incremental, maybe for 1.4 have a single large patch and also a smaller update from 1.35 to 1.4, no idea how many patches are planned however but I expect there to be at least some support still if they keep the DLC content active.)
So, how do you think, it's DX10/11 update? Two Worlds 2 has an update with DX10, maybe CD Project will add also new DX version? :eyebrows: BTW, here is the trailer: http://pl.thewitcher.com/the-witcher/2/videos/trailers/
